Is it the same knee as last year?

No it isn't

If healthy he should be the starting strong safety next to Resfield next year. This team and his family is cursed with injuries.

Didn't his brother also have a significant injury that affected his recruitment? Wasn't it an ACL?

If so that would make three out of four, torn, between the brothers; could there be a genetic component to this?

Inquiring minds want to know!

We can only hope that this recovery is as successful as last years!

Which brings up a point for discussion; Is a successfully repaired torn ACL, more stable, stronger than the original knee was? Or isn't it that simple?

I would really like to know the chances of a repeat injury and a discussion of the whole issue. Peoria, I am looking at you! And a few others that can find the information or have the specific knowledge.

In my day, and even a bit after, an ACL tear was the kiss of death. You were done, period!

Times have changed! (Again for the better!)

That scream still rings thru my mind

Agreed! It was blood curdling, wasn't it?

Which makes me further wonder : How do you make sense of Tranquill's obvious immediate pain with his injury, with Tarean Folston's look of confusion, more than look of pain, as if he had no idea that he had a significant injury?

Could it be individual anatomical anomalies? More or fewer nerve endings? Other damage, or involvement of other tissue or structures? Degree or injury?

LOL. Maybe this needs a thread.

Actually, a series of "Injury" threads wouldn't be half bad if someone knew what they were doing!

I didn't get to watch the game live, so I knew Drue was injured but I didn't know at what point in the game it happened so I payed very close attention to him. I actually thought the injury happened earlier in the half - it really looked like his knee bent in a weird way on one of his tackles. I am wondering if that didn't tweak it a little bit and then the celebration... and that scream...

Get well soon Drue.

Oh, and Joe Schmidt again?

THIS! i have never understood why they do that...it is just asking for an injury(this is now the 2nd Irish player to be injured following a celebration..sheldon was the previous) ...the same thing as fuller always jumping into the endzone...one of these times he is going to pull a hammy

I just saw and heard it for the first time. It made me sick to my stomach. It almost brings me to tears to see these kids get hurt, especially when they have already faced major ones like Drue has already. I hope he takes the same approach to getting back as he did last year, and I hope he comes back just as strong. My heart goes out to these guys, it's a brutal sport.

If you notice in the second half, the celebrations were scaled back. I'm assuming BK told the guys to knock it off

I took it less as it was that painful and more that he knew what that pain felt like and what it meant. I heard more of a very sad NOOOOO, versus and in pain OWWWW

High praise when considering the freak Jaylon Smith went through AWP as well

Can someone refresh my memory as to how his knee was injured last year? I know it was an ACL. Was he rolled up on, or was he cutting?

He screamed because he had felt that pain before and knew what had happened immediately. My daughter blew out her ACL in volleyball of her senior year. She didn't scream like that, but did cry in pain. I guarantee it was more of a "NOT THIS AGAIN" type of scream.

Regarding the screams/pain, completely depends on the severity of the tear, what else it effects, other damage and/or pain on the knee, etc.

Saw that picture a few days ago. Really gotta love this kids attitude. Hopefully he remains in good spirits and can get back to the field soon. He could play a pivotal role in next years defense.
