Not playing today

Source?

I could see CBK sitting a few players who need to recover from some aches and pains this weekend. Get fresh for Clemson.

I know... one game at a time, but I don't give a shit about the spread and I don't know if the coaches do either (I'd guess not). I guess the CFB Playoff committee might, but I'd rest a sore guy this week. Especially with Nick out for the year at tight end.

'14 CA TE Tyler Luatua (Notre Dame Signee)

'14 CA TE Tyler Luatua (Notre Dame Signee)

If he was available yesterday does he set the edge and Kizer score on the 2 pt conversion? Think about that.

Btw he has been out two weeks now. Be careful Tyler, football is just a game you have a whole life in front of you.

Tyler's been putting in grown-man work in the red zone.

This is a bump shout-out.

How much does he weigh now? Any chance of him moving to tackle in the future? There are a lot of excellent tackles that started as tight ends and Luatua has shown that he can block with the best!

IMO I don't see why you would, OL depth is stacked.

Not a chance. He doesn't have nearly the length or size for that.

Nor do I think he's a guy you want in constant pass protection.

I'd like to see a little more full back formations. It obviously doesn't fit our offense but Luatua would be an excellent fullback.

I just appreciate the fact that this is a guy who has totally bought into his role on the team and these are the type of dudes that pave the way to championships.

Huge props to the young man and I hope he can stay healthy because we are going to really need him down the stretch

How is he not getting targets in the red zone? Is he on super secret probation from receiving drills. I recall him having fairly good catching skills in HS right?

Soon enough this will happen near the goal line. Play action pop play to him.

he isn't fast enough to gain separation nor long enough to box out defenders

I'm okay with Luatua strictly being a big bodied blocker, he does that well. I seem to recall he scoffed at the idea of lining up offset as a receiver during his recruitment. When we go 2 TE sets in goal line situations we can either keep him in as a blocker, or release him to eat up a defender, either works.

A BYU reporter tweeted yesterday that he has requested a transfer and sent in transfer paperwork to BYU. Also said that he hasn't made up his mind and BK is trying to talk him out of it. I'm not sure how he could know the second part.

I hope this isn't true. Love this dude's game, and we really don't have anyone else like him.

Understandable to say the least. If you told him he would be a fullback used sparingly he would have never came here in the first place. Good for him
