Man, that sure is a surprise! I figured that Clemson would be more than a touchdown over-dog!

I'd rather us be a TD dog heading in.

I took it more as prep for the Clemson night game noise more so than the actual stadium noise. Typically when on offense, the home crowd gets quiet until the play is ran. With that said, I haven't been to ND stadium for a game so I don't know what effect the construction plays with noise level.

Go to a Colts game. You can hear a pin drop when the offense is on the field.

I raised this point a couple of years ago in one of "The Shirt" threads. I don't remember the exact context of that conversation but it really hurts our game atmosphere that we don't wear one color. Looks especially lackluster on television.

It's been a number of years, but I had sent an email to the athletic department inquiring why they don't designate games "blue", "gold" or "green" games. Never got a reply.

It's much harder in the Midwest than in the south or California. In those locations, asking fans to wear a certain color is asking them to buy a $15 t-shirt. In South Bend, people are in a t-shirt for the first game, a sweatshirt for the next two, a jacket for the next two, and a parka for the last one. Very few people have enough winter coats to be picking and choosing specific colors for a Notre Dame game.

You want to talk about idiot gameday atmosphere, the Boston College band plays the entire game. As in, the drums never stop, including when BC has the ball. To make matters worse, the percussion section is freaking miked so it's a constant "thrum ba-da bumpabumpa thrum ba-da bumpabumpa bum da" the whole. damn. time.

Very well aware of that, been going to Irish games since '73. The shirt, sweatshirt or jacket doesn't have to have Notre Dame or a logo on the front. The same color is enough to get the job done.

Besides, contrary to what Dublin thinks, us old geezers are the ones that can afford to buy another sweatshirt, shirt, etc. It's the broke young kids that would complain! lol

Can't you hear a pin drop like 90% of the time at all NFL games???

Sports talk here in SC are jumping on the Will Fuller Tweet. The Notre Dame bashing is kicking into high gear.

Why are we talking so much? First KVR and now Fuller? I love swag and I actually love when players trash talk (to a degree), but in person, not through the media or through twitter.

For the record, I've worn a T-shirt to all 3 games so far this year.

I don't see how Fuller talked trash. All he said was 'Clemson is going to be savage', right?

KVR agree should zip it. Especially since he's not exactly killing people.

Chris Brown also chimed in on Fuller's tweet....

Wow, Clemson is really digging to find some motivation for this game. Is Fuller's tweet that controversial/trash talky? He effectively said this game will be brutal and violent, right? It's not like he said "ND is going to come out and destroy Clemson."

Yeah, I did some more reading on it and Fuller's and CB's tweets weren't really anything. KVR...don't know what he was thinking. But the Clemson players are talking right back so it's going to be on. Plus Dabo talked his stupid 'ND needs to be in a conference' crap so it's on with the coaches as well.

I agree. But if players are gonna talk on twitter during the season, it has to be said where no motivation can be taken from it. I don't blame Clemson at all for seeing it that way. I'd expect our players to use it the same.

How does a normal 'gut feeling' go for you guys? I start out on Sunday thinking about injuries, lack of rest/down games, and feel about 50/50. Still there by Monday, but by every Friday/Saturday I feel like there's no way we lose. Am I mental?

They're from Clemson, perhaps you give their reading comprehension too much credit?......

I go all week thinking it's cfb and anything could happen, but it's ND so what happens will probably be bad,... then Saturday comes and I wake up and I'm in a state of complete acceptance... then the pre game starts and I usually find myself crying in a fetal position cuddled up with my cats in front of my fire place...

So we're like the same only opposite.

To be honest... Fuller may have meant it like it would be a heavyweight fight... but Clemson probably took it as disrespect like ND was going to beat them down. Clemson has a redheaded stepchild mentality when it comes to football. Because lets be honest, when it comes to screwing up at the most in opportune times, Clemson has been doing it better than ND for much longer.

This...I went and read the article posted above Notre Dame CB on Watson: “I don’t think he’s a top five quarterback" - Deshaun Watson Clemson Football Player Update | TigerNet and, THIS is their bulletin board material...KVR said

I think Deshaun Watson manages the game well. I’ve played against quarterbacks better than him, I’ve played against quarterbacks that weren’t as good as him…He’s not overly superior, I don’t think he’s like a top five quarterback in the country, I think he manages the game extremely well, and does what the offense asks of him. He doesn’t do too much, but he does enough for him."

“I don’t think he’s a top-five quarterback, but he’s a good quarterback, though.”

oooooo...burn

Russell was saddened to hear about Clemson wide receiver Mike Williams' neck injury, but he is not worried about the speed of the other Clemson skill players.

"Great group of guys," Russell said. "I'm sorry to hear Mike Williams is out for the year because with him in there they had like a top 5 group in the country I'd argue. Artavis Scott is still one of the top guys in the country. He is a great, great player. With Germone Hopper and the other guys they have, they have a lot of talent and skill guys. Like I said, I play against that every day. I play against Will Fuller, Chris Brown, Torii Hunter, Corey Robinson. I play against an offense that is similar if not better. For me, they have a great group but it doesn't worry me. Like I said, I am well prepared playing against guys like Will Fuller every day. So when I see an Artavis Scott, the speed is not going to be different. Will Fuller is one of the fastest guys in the country.

whao dude is dfinitely calling that ish out...word!

Follow all that up with Fuller: "Clemson promise it's gonna be #savage"
All that breaks down to is its going to be a hard fought game.
