How much of that has to do with them playing against Fuller and Company, though?

That I do not know... but how much can we say about those other teams too?

At this point of the season, it's really a non-starter conversation imo.

Wooly, no offense, put your point is meritless. In a two game sample size, playing well creates a self-fulfilling prophecy that those pass defenses would be ranked lowly.

Consider the passing attacks Virginia has played in its first two games... and then consider that most teams haven't even played 2 Power 5 opponents at this point. Virginia had an elite pass defense last year, and returns virtually all of those players. They aren't bad.

I wouldn't say it's "meritless", it's a fact. Of course it's a "chicken or the egg scenario", but what isn't at this stage in the game. That's exactly what I pointed out in my last post.

Bottom line... people don't know how good those secondaries are either. It's always easy to act like we have played world beaters and everyone else has not.

It's amazing how frequently he gets open deep. I swear he's been wide open for a potential TD just about every single game going back to Rice.

That's what makes it meritless.

And I said no offense in order to be more polite than saying "you have to be a complete moron to look at vanilla NCAA stats for anything, and the dumbest person alive to look at them after two games and try to draw any relevant conclusion." :)

His record last year speaks for itself, and by any reasonable measure hasn't skipped a beat. No doubt he's among the best at his position in the country. We only have two other players in that conversation that can presently walk on the whole team.

This is more how I feel about it. He has continued to get open deep consistently in overlapping seasons. That is proof enough for me. He reminds me of Devin Smith from last year's Buckeyes as he tracks the deep ball so well. I hope that it continues with the QB change, and Kizer hasn't really given me any reason to think it won't!

I don't want to see that word come up in any of our player's threads. The award is a popularity contest, it doesn't convey the same honor it used to, and to be honest I think the award circuit can be too taxing on players that have classes and are trying to prepare for a bowl game.

Fuller is a stud at the deep ball and the short hitch/screen type plays, but he needs to get better at catching with his hands on intermediate and timing routes to be the best in the country IMO.

Don't get me wrong, this is just being petty at this point cause the dude is a threat to score every play.

Statically i have no idea, maybe Juju, but i must admit I don't follow much of the stats. I meant more from straight talent. I personally think Treadwell is the best in the country, but as I stated, I am just being petty. Fuller is amazing, but he reminds me on Hayward-Bey, who can burn ANYBODY but struggles with catching the ball with his hands.

However, i wouldn't trade Fuller for anybody, even Treadwell.

Really depends on how you measure who the best is. Is it based on pro potential? College potential? College stats?
Good question. Lol

I was honestly asking as I'm not in tune with much of CFB outside of a few top teams, the local teams, and ND

Talent-wise, there are several "ranked" higher than Fuller, but his speed will always have a special spot for somebody on the next level.
