I think it's only a matter of time until this kid flips. Manti had a hand in getting Jaylon, now Jaylon will have a hand in getting Daelin.

I'm out of the loop recruiting wise, is Daelin considered that caliber of player?

Per Loy said he's loving his visit. Gilmore spent 15 minutes before kick. Also as the players were finishing "the players walk" into the Stadium, Gilmore, Kelly, and Jaylon each gave him a hug.

It gives me chills just thinking about how we could finish this recruiting class. Man I hope these young stars see the potential at ND.

Raw but yes, he's considered a consensus top 100 player. I don't know if it's fair to compare anyone to Jaylon so far and Manti was the #1 at his position but Daelin could be a monster piece to our defense after some tutelage.

Video of what KPENN posted. Doesn't get better than that. Loy is on top of things nowadays it seems.

Jaylon is better than Manti and there is zero question about it

Jaylon has more talent but not sure he's better... Yet...

Anyway, is he still an actual USC verbal? If not can we get that taken off his thread title? It makes me wanto hate him.... Just instinctively...

I think things are trending towards ND for sure.

Still has to pass admissions and still have to commit/sign

Jaylon has a higher ceiling but he's not where Manti was...yet

He is beyond where Teo was as a junior, for sure. In a couple more games we'll have a better idea of how far along he is this year. He had a great game against Texas ... Let's see if he keeps playing at that level against Ga. Tech. But, I think he's surpassed Teo already. Jaylon is a monster talent.

I loved Teo. He was more of a "student of the game" and used his head. Jaylon is just crazy athletic...with a higher ceiling. IMO

Jaylon is not the same type of LB that Manti is. Different positions, different skill sets. That being said, I see Hayes being a DE not a LB.

Let's get him in and.figure out his best position.

I think he's a DE too, but I am with you. Just get his LOI and he will find his way to the field.

They both have their strengths. Te'o and Jaylon as teammates would wreck college offenses. Te'o is a Notre Dame legend. Jaylon is still building his legacy, let's let everything play out first.

Manti had incredible anticipation and play-reading, particularly in his final year where he was really dialled in to what the opposition was looking to do, so he was very good against the pass. Jaylon is explosive closing the distance to the ball-carrier and a violent tackler so he is very good against the run.

In years-gone-by though, a linebacker built like Manti would have bulked out and been a downhill run stuffer, and a backer built like Jaylon stayed lean and wiry and would have been a finesse pass-cover and pass-rusher on the edge.

They are both unique in the crossover of their skill-sets but fundamentally different creatures as linebacker. Different assignments, different roles.

He's better at the same stage in my opinion.

Yeah, as juniors? Not even close. Jaylon is much better than Manti was as a junior. Manti's senior season in terms of big plays+leadership+consistency was out of control, but Jaylon is ahead of the curve at this point.
