No premier (twill) jersey this year? The screen printing looks cheap.

It's not the uniform that's the problem. The uniform is a symptom.

UnderArmor is just stupid expensive. A freakin hoodie for $100? smh
I agree with the beginning of your statement. The problem is that the brand we're promoting isn't our own. We're Pepsi releasing a red can with white script. We're Wendy's changing our sign to a golden "W."I know Wolly's a banker and I'm not sure what you do at the Mothership Wiz but I've worked on brand development my entire professional career. ND Football is a brand, the helmet is an impressionable component of that brand. What ND is doing is essential in promoting their brand and keeping market share as measured by college football standards. ND football is the most iconic brand in college football but Phil Knight changed the rules and ND now must play by those rules.
The first one and the last one, yes. No italics. Also Crossroads, the jumbotron, $40 t-shirts, Brian Kelly, Everett Golson, DaVaris Daniels, Greg Bryant.Out of curiosity what are the other symptoms of the problem? Turf? Night games? Hippity hop music being played through the record player?

It's because of Jaylon's popularity. ND has been selling #5 for a couple years. I haven't checked the availability right now, but it wouldn't surprise me if they replaced all the #5 jerseys with #9interesting that ND is selling #9 jerseys. Lots of schools limiting their options to #1 #15 and maybe one other legacy number like Auburn with #34 for Bo
Yeah, looks like it wasn't the uniform that the players were hyped about but Josh Anderson getting a scholly.

Aye, there's the rub. "Notre Dame" is not a football team to me. I'll also point out that I do not believe that Notre Dame has been "ruined," simply that it's moving in a direction that I'd rather it not.Yes Kelly is ruining Notre Dame. It wasn't Weis or Willingham or Davie or incompetent ADs prior to Swarbrick or the people who want you to sit down during games. No, it's Kelly and rap music and turf that have ruined ND.
Matthew 5:14Wiz, I know you take positions and then grind them mercilessly but this seems below you. What is ND supposed to be in your mind? I'd like you to spell out exactly what ND is and what you think it should be. Then tell us how these things change that and make it into something it's not.
That might make this correspondence a little easier.
Let me ask the disgruntled fans... who manages their brand better than the Irish?
Off the top of my head, Oregon. Alabama. The SEC as a conference. Ohio State. USC. Texas.Let me ask the disgruntled fans... who manages their brand better than the Irish?

ETA: And I wouldn't say I'm disgruntled. I'm generally quite... gruntled. But this is a uniform thread so bitch about the uniforms I shall.
Haha you guys are terrible. How do you not like these? At least ND does things like this. The players are ecstatic about it and that is all that matters.
I love them!
Get with the times, you old men.
I'd like them to do black jerseys with gold numbers and green outlining next year.
Because the uniform-changing gimmick is PART of Oregon's brand. I don't have a problem with it per se, I have a problem with us doing it, because it's not who we are. It's not our history or culture. Some teams (Alabama, Notre Dame, Penn State and the like) should never have mirror chrome logos on their helmets. So Phil Knight has built Oregon's brand by changing uniforms 11-14 times a year but ND is ruining it's by doing it once? That is what I read, correct?

As long as the players love them...that's all I really care about.
That said...if they could ditch the mustard yellow pants for the gold ones from back in the 90s I would be so happy.
There it is. "We disagree so you should get the hell out of here." Classic.Take that shit to NDnation. Your pov will be well received there.
Bite your tongue. Those are a throwback to the Ara days.

It's like... the Patriots can throw the football on the two yard line because their offense is built on Brady and Gronk. The Seahawks would be better served running the ball in that situation, or else shit like this happens.
Shamrock Series uniforms are the Malcolm Butler interception of collegiate apparel. ;-)
