That was exactly my thought. I thought the adult would tell the kid to move or give up his seat himself to set an example. Instead he did the opposite. I don't expect pre-teens to inherently know the right thing to do in social situations... and it's the job of the adults to provide leadership/guidance.

They all had this patch:

I don't know about troop number, I think I saw an adult with a "20" or something on his arm. How many troops are there and how many people are in a troop?

Just a quick check of that council's website says that they have 56,000 youth members. I don't think that'll get you far. However, if you send an email/complaint to the council, they may be able to track down the troop from the details (I imagine the council is informed when adults take the Scouts out of the district).

When people don't put their grocery carts away and just leave them in the middle of the parking lot.

I wish I could take a picture of this crap right now.

People riding bikes on narrow, windy two lane roads when there is a 20 mile American Tobacco Road bike path with trail heads less than a mile away.

I'm amazed there isn't a story daily about some road rage idiot plowing into a group of 50 bicyclists hogging the road during rush hour. Off hours or off the road you morons.

Don't forget though that

1) Bikes have an equal right to the road.
2) A lot of people commute by bike.
3) There aren't a lot of places with laws and infrastructure that address bikes specifically to give them a safe traffic niche. (Bicycle traffic signals get a green light)
4) EVERYONE breaks traffic laws all the time, not just people on bikes. How often do you see people exceeding the speed limit, rolling through stops, and tailgating? That doesn't excuse what bikers do, but it provides some context.

How about those completely overpriced and up their own ass stores and eateries that only exist to give their own elitist clients a place to eat and shop,...? Places that wouldn't stay in business two days if it weren't for the reputation of being 'high end' or 'different' because their actual products are pure shit when seen for what they are and not what society says they are.

Even certain national chains,... You all know who I'm referring to....

Seeing athletes squander their opportunity to get a world class education for free while playing the game that they hopefully love. It's certainly a difficult task balancing school, football, and college life but geeeeezzzzz is it frustrating to see.

People who don't speak up. My friend will walk around Lowes for 30 minutes looking for something instead of just asking the associate for help. Sometimes the associate will even ask if he needs any help and he says "no". WTF!

Maybe he is trying to escape his family for 30 minutes?

I wish I could have escaped. Should have went to Home Depot, ours has a hot dog stand that sells carne asada tacos and LA street dogs.

That would stop my gears from grinding right there...

A lot of us a relatively new to having DST. I miss the days when we didn't have to change any clocks, and it was dark before 9 in the summer.

I hate to break the news to you, but Indiana has had Daylight Savings time since WWII just like the rest of the country. What Indiana did was move back and forth between central and eastern time zones. Now it's eastern all the time which is why it's light at 9:00 at night. But like you I don't like it being that light that late. At the peak it's almost 10 before it gets dark.

I think it's awesome that there's still some sunlight at 9pm. That's coming from a guy that doesn't often wake up till 9 or 10am though.

But what if there is a guy that has a dog inside of Lowes or Home Depot? Does that ruin the escape and the tacos and the hot dogs or nah?

This woman. My initial thought was that it was an onion article. Sadly it appears to be true.

Jury rejects woman's suit against nephew for energetic greeting

A jury in Bridgeport, Conn., has rejected a woman's attempt to sue her then 8-year-old nephew for an exuberant greeting at his birthday party four years ago that she says caused her a broken wrist.

Jennifer Connell sued in Bridgeport Superior Court for $127,000, saying the little boy did not behave reasonably when he leapt into her arms at his 8th birthday celebration.

The six-member jury found the boy was not liable for the injury suffered by Connell, 54, of New York City, the Connecticut Post is reporting.

Earlier, Connell said the broken wrist had caused her longstanding problems.

“I was at a party recently, and it was difficult to hold my hors d’oeuvre plate,” Connell, who lives on Manhattan's Upper East Side, told a told a Connecticut jury.

“The injuries, losses and harms to the plaintiff were caused by the negligence and carelessness of the minor defendant in that a reasonable eight years old under those circumstances would know or should have known that a forceful greeting such as the one delivered by the defendant to the plaintiff could cause the harms and losses suffered by the plaintiff,” the lawsuit claims.

On Friday, the boy, now 12, appeared confused as he sat with his father in a courtroom in Bridgeport, the state’s largest city, the Connecticut Post reported. The boy’s mother died last year and a listed phone number couldn't be found for the youngster's father, Michael Terala, according to The Associated Press.

On the witness stand, Connell, a human resources manager in Manhattan, testified she loves Sean, whom she described as always being “very loving” toward her, but believes he should take responsibility for her injury.

According to testimony reported by the Post, Connell, who has no children of her own, arrived at the Tarala home in March 2011 to attend Sean’s party. When he spotted Connell, he dropped his new bicycle on the ground and ran toward her calling out, “Auntie Jen, Auntie Jen.”

“All of a sudden he was there in the air, I had to catch him and we tumbled onto the ground,” Connell testified. “I remember him shouting, ‘Auntie Jen I love you,’ and there he was flying at me.”

Although hurt, Connell told the jury, she didn’t complain at the time. “It was his birthday party and I didn’t want to upset him,” she said.

But, Connell continued, her life was turned upside down as a result of the injury.

“It has been very difficult,” the Post reported her as saying. “We all know how crowded it is in Manhattan.”
