I really do think ND's suspension policies are a bit overkill.

Yeah, something in the middle between ND's policy and tOSU's would be good I think. GB got 4 games for weed, the tOSU players get 1. I read a comment on a Buckeye site where a user said "Credit Urban for suspending them for a big game like VT instead of a lesser opponent later in the season." Right, cause a one game suspension was a strict punishment.

Yeah...I was reading on that thread on 11W about the suspensions and while people are blaming the player, no one was saying thank goodness it wasn't for more games. Makes me think that they believe 1 game is punishment enough. I know people say "its just weed, man", but it is still technically an illegal substance most places. (I don't think too many of these guys who get caught have glaucoma issues.) However, I think that 1 game tends to be the standard in CFB, yes? More's the pity.

I have no information whatsoever, and I don't want to start slinging mud, but I'd be willing to bet that in the instances where ND players have encountered punishment based on enjoyment of natural herbs, that they weren't first offenses. I have a feeling that ND players get plenty of wiggle room, and that in instances where BK puts his foot down, it's for good reason.

So though the punishments look different, the situations are probably a bit different as well.
