At first I was thinking "Do we really need Procise getting carries when Williams will likely come in prepared enough to take a couple carries as our #3?" With Greg being out for a bit CJ's cross-training in the spring will certainly be vital. Hopefully Williams picks things up quick too, not that he would garner a lot of carries as the #3 guy, but he may be needed if something were to happen to Folston (God forbid, knocking on wood), or CJ.

Bryant will not get his spot back from CJ. He's to far along to transfer. get the Degree playing limited reps and keeping wear n tear off legs play 5thyr at best place for starting, get drafted. /Thread

With the line that he'll have in '17 and being MZ's boy will pay dividends. I know people want to play but there are going to be people associated with ND right now that will sit more than they will play in South Bend and then get paid on Sundays. It's really the best of all worlds when it works out like that.

The other thing is that he will probably get a 5th year from ND if he completes his undergrad work. Based on some of his dad's thoughts when he was being recruited, getting an undergrad and Master's degree from ND would be great for him. If he has no more issues, I doubt he would transfer to play a 5th year anywhere else if he has the option to play at ND.

There's a good chance neither Folston or CJ are going to be here next year, so he could very well be the guy then. And there's a good chance CJ spends most of his time as a receiver anyway once GB comes back. He'll be just fine.

Well, I hope Carlisle or one of the true frosh are good to go at RB. Can't go into the season with just two guys, one of which of course was converted from WR. Sigh.

If this continues to be an annual occurrence, we'll continue to struggle bringing in fringe prospects.

The moment he signed with us I thought he had possible transfer written all over him.

Alright, looks like Dexter and Adams better get ready. They're each two or three plays from being big-time keys in the backfield.

Also, I haz a sad that this probably means Prosise sticks purely at RB.

So I feel like I'm missing something with that last tweet.

Wouldn't the only reason for the difference between a B+ and B- making you eligible mean he was doing very poor in other classes?

I know Mr. Bryant means well with that quote but damn that makes ND look ridiculous from a publicity standpoint.

I believe that if Prosise is as good as everyone [coaches especially] are saying, then we'll be fine. It's rather weird to hear this board complain about having only two RBs playing when it constantly bitched about Cam McDaniel being in the rotation with Folston and Bryant.

What's it gonna be, folks? It seems to me that the "hidden message" in all this was: two backs as long as one was Bryant, regardless of whether he could get the offensive duties right. "Eye Test Rules" again.

We've got another running back in the backfield anyway. His name is Zaire.

TP knew 3 days ago. But seriously, he did.

TP also knew about Deeb/Heurman over a week before that broke. So don't doubt his omniscience.

If this is all (and a few of you know what I'm talking about), then this is a big 'meh' for me. He was already gone for a third of the season anyway, and it's not like freshman RB's can't make inroads on good teams (happens all over the country, why not ND for once?), so this doesn't really phase me right now.

Plus, if this is the only guy that we lose from now until the season, I will be a happy, happy man. (Insert prayer gif)

Thank goodness Bryant Sr. is so committed to his son getting a degree.

Indeed... but if it doesn't shake out right, this loss is catastrophic. As is, Folston + Prosise can handle 30 touches a game easily between them with another back (Carlisle, Hunter, Williams, or Adams) getting a little bit of run.

According to the press release, he still remains on scholarship and will still be able to practice with the team. Just won't be on the 105-man roster.
