Don't agree with that. Think Jaylon has a long way to go to be the number 1 player. If the draft was right now I would say Jaylon goes around 20-25.

Nearly every "expert" disagrees with you. He is a consensus top 15 pick right now.
I'll check out some mocks and player rankings later. But I know I have seen a mock draft where Jaylon is not even in the first round.

100% complete agree with you on this. I think Kiper has really fallen off about 5 years ago. I take his grading with a grain of salt.Darron Lee was an 85 rating on the 247 composite... about 1 point higher than Nicco Fertitta... out of high school.
Ridiculous.

Lol yeah i misunderstood. But your point makes sense.I meant more that it's insane that he was so lowly rated despite committing to a big time program and is projected as a top draft pick. I don't really know anything about him.
No. 12: Jaylon Smith, Notre Dame, LB: The Freakiest video of Smith isn't of the 241-pounder in the weight room, but rather this one, where he's in the middle of the field, sheds a blocker and bursts to snatch down a running back. That's the kind of explosiveness that has scouts comparing him to Patrick Willis.
Smith vertical-jumps 36 inches, benches 400 (doing 225 for 26 reps), broad-jumps 10-2 and has a short shuttle time (4.03), just a shade behind Overton. Smith is also ridiculously lean. The ND staff recently measured his body fat at 4 percent. Oh, and there's one other impressive number about him.
He just turned 20 in June.

Great article that Feldman does every summer.
I think Jaylon is just a stellar young man and hope he gets everything he deserves as he's already been a good ambassador for ND. However, I'd like two (including this year) more years of his freakish athleticism leading this defense. Though, I feel thats probably too much to ask for.

"Smith has great range and an extra burst to his target that puts him in position to make an insane number of plays. He's an ultra smooth LB who is more productive than Myles Jack and a better athlete than Scooby Wright." -- Lance Zierlein
