"I like Coach Sanford — a lot — obviously," Johnson said. "He thinks that I'm a really good player, and I think he's a great coach. Throughout the whole recruitment process I'm just trying to find the perfect spot for me, and Notre Dame is a great place and a great school."

"We're talking pretty much every week," Johnson said. "I have visited there two or three times now and I have gotten to know his family even a little bit better. I like Coach Sanford a lot, [but] I'm really looking to develop a better relationship with [head coach] Brian Kelly. I have talked with him two or three times now [and] I would like to get back for a couple more visits to sit down and talk with him more and get to know him better there. But I feel really confident with Coach Sanford and what he's doing with his quarterbacks."

Has A LOT of contact w/ michigan and that includes Harbaugh---remember him from a couple posts up about wanting to actually talk to BK

His teammate and friend Toks Akinribade has a UM offer and while they arn't a package he said basically it wouldn't hurt if they went together

"I know Toks likes Michigan a lot too, it helps that we are both guys they've offered, and we can talk back and forth about what we like," he said. "It's cool It's very nice because I know Toks likes Michigan. I don't know if that's where he wants to go, but I know he likes it there. I've talked with Coach Samford at Notre Dame, and I know he likes Toks a lot, so hopefully it does work out."

First of all, he doesn't need to get on a plane for this kid. He is local and can max out his contact allotment very easily. Sanford is doing his part to make sure the personal attention of the person he would work with, day in and day out, is telling him the message he needs to hear. Once he gets on campus, Harbaugh wouldn't be his daily contact. BK will get involved when it's most impactful.

Anybody that's courted a girl knows that the guy that is constantly hounding the girl isn't always the one that gets the date. This is similar. Have some patience fellas, it's a LONG time before this kid makes a decision. I highly doubt that BK's contact is an issue here.

I've blown off the 2016 class because of him but I'm wondering if the MZ - BW roadblock will deter him? ND really has a different skill set at QB than what he brings to the table. BUT, I'll be ready for another Mirer, Pawlus, Quinn, Clausen type after 3 NC's from MZ and BW!

I don't see why the existing people would be a roadblock for him. BW is a 2015 guy. With MZ running the ball and/or blocking a good amount, and DK being unproven and unseen as well, BW may not get to redshirt if Ca-ca hits the fan. therefore, BW could have 2 yrs used by the time Hunter would step on campus.

(Obviously this does not count in any QB we are able to land for 2016)

Let's be reasonable here. If the QB is a statue he can work in BK's system. Tommy Reesus was able to play for 4 years at ND without the arm strength or accuracy that Hunter already shows. If we want a slinger, it wouldn't take much to transition the offense to work to his strengths.

Obviously, he forgot that Harry Hiestand has already added a verbal from offensive lineman Dillan Gibbons for the 2017 class. But still, if we can start the 2017 class off with Hunter Johnson, Brock Wright, and Dillan Gibbons, you won't hear this fan complaining.

He'll be a Top 100 player next recruiting cycle and Notre Dame believes that he has the capabilities of a No. 1 overall draft pick. Not talking rankings there, they think he's a future pro.
