He is closer to Oregon than he is Los Angeles, so wonder who his #1 would be/who his childhood team is.

Running back Damian Alloway (Fontana, Calif./Summit) said he no longer plans to announce a verbal commit Monday evening.

He was slated to announce at 7 PM PST at the Athletic Republic in Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.).

Alloway plans to push back his decision timeline.

"I'm going to visit some campuses in the spring and commit in the summer," Alloway said.

Alloway has seven verbal offers.

"Cal and UCLA are neck-to-neck," Alloway said. "I'm still wide open. I want to visit Cal, UCLA, Oregon and Notre Dame."

The Crystal Ball reads 100-percent for UCLA.

The four-star recruit is ranked as the nation's No. 1 all-purpose running back and the No. 19 prospect in California in the 2016 class by 247Sports.com Composite Rankings.

Really glad he is stepping back and taking more time. Even if he ends up choosing UCLA he'll at the very least be making a more informed decision. This felt very rushed for a kid that will probably get a lot more interest throughout his recruitment.

Notre Dame would turn the recruiting process upside down for him.
said that he has had recent contact with Notre Dame's Mike Sanford, and that has changed things. The offensive coordinator was at Alloway's school last week to pickup transcripts and outline what the Irish need on offense
"It would change my life man," he said. "It would really change my life."
"That was the first time I ever met him," Alloway said when asked about Sanford. "I had been talking to him on Twitter a lot, so [it was a lot of me] finally getting to meet him and feel him out as a coach. He has just been telling me that they need a slot guy, and they feel like I can go up there and do damage at Notre Dame."

Sanford and the Irish like Alloway because of his speed — and he certainly has the ability to razzle and dazzle all over the field — but the primary concern right now is with his size. The athlete checked into the camp on Sunday at 5-8, 165-pounds, which isn't exactly "big."

"Notre Dame and Oregon … I have always been telling everybody that if I can get those offers it will broaden my list. I feel [that an offer from Notre Dame] is coming. Once I get that one they are going to shoot right up to the top and I'm really going to start talking to the coaches and get a feel for them," Alloway said.

IDK - It just made me feel like he wants an offer from ND so other schools will look and offer him and get the real offer he wants.

He thinks we ultimately offer and he has a source that told him if ND does we'll land him over UCLA. I know we're not taking many offensive skill players in this class but I'd be very happy to have Damian in this class. More speed!

I understand size is a concern but De'Anthony Thomas was 160 lbs. coming out of HS and he made a sizeable impact at Oregon. I think Damian can as well. Hopefully we truly get into this recruitment like a lot of people expect.

""It would change my life man," Alloway said on May 11. "It would really change my life." He previously had named California and UCLA as his leaders, but said that's no longer the case.

He had Cal and UCLA as his leaders before adding Wisconsin to his top group as well. 247 seems pretty confident that we will be a major factor.

If you watch this kid's junior highlights, he has about 7 minutes straight of TDs.

Andrew Ivins at BGI is saying the plan is to take an OV to ND for the USC weekend. Wiltfong is expecting a summer visit. His coach is saying an OV to USC is the plan

Hopefully we can get that summer visit and get him in the class. I'd like to see an early Cali commit that can bond that can recruit for us with some of the top Cali talent.

Wiltfong thinks a summer visit and commitment could happen here.

Top 100 player, high on ND, position of need. Better slow play the kid.

FTFY

I know nothing about this kid's competition. Or his anticipated position at ND. Anyone care to enlighten me?

His profile on Hudl lists him at 5'11". 247 lists him at 5'8". If he's closer to 5'8" and being recruited for slot WR I'm going to reserve judgment for now but I think I liked CJ Sanders' film a lot more.

I think this kid could definitely be an asset, I just worry about how tight our numbers are getting at WR. I think it would be silly to take 4 this year, which means if we take Alloway, there's less room for one of the following: McKinley, Corley, Nixon, or Mack. However, I also admit that I'd love to take a player from UCLA, especially if it gets us back in the Lokeni sweepstakes. Not to mention it would be nice to have a Top 100 guy helping us recruit out West.
