This thread went silent for 25 minutes oh ye of little faith!

I'll remember that 22-2 run for the rest of my life. I think I may have become an Irish basketball fan for the fist time since the very early 80's.

Great game by the team, must be a fantastic feeling to go in and win two straight games as underdogs in a heavily anti-ND atmosphere and shut the crowd up. This might finally be the team to go to the Sweet 16.

Also, it's complete bullshit that Gonzaga is even in the discussion for a 2 seed. Their best win is a close loss to Arizona, and the bulk of their schedule is made up of the same level teams that killed our non-conference strength of schedule.

So much fun watching this tournament. I agree probably the biggest win in the program's history. Special shout out to Coach Brey and Jack Swarbrick. ACC Champs 2015!

Praying for a 2 seed. So pumped that 3-seed is our worst case scenario.

ACC Champs baby! I didn't want the coverage to end...I could have watched every second of post game. Hope we get a 2. The committee has never really done us any favors and everyone seems to think Kansas is a lock but they have 3 more losses than us and got worked by temple. Not to mention we have 2 wins (Duke) better than any win on their résumé.

GO IRISH!

Had a group of 6-7. I bought 20 shots. Had to do too many. Still was a great night.

ND just fucked up Tabocca Road.

There's really no argument you can bring up to defend Kansas ahead of ND. We were better, no excuse to put us behind them. Committee, you f*ck this up and Savvy Jack will have his foot approximately 4 feet up your ass. Don't be stupid.

The problem with seeding for ND is that a lot of the criteria the committee uses is archaic. Really, really archaic. As such, the "badness" of the bad teams on your OOC schedule has WAY too much of an impact on your SOS, RPI, and lots of other criteria. And then there are other criteria, like looking at quality wins, that piggy back off the RPI. I can't see us getting better than a 3.

The difference between playing a bunch of minor conference teams that went 13-17 versus 7-23 is truly huge. And makes no sense at all in the grand scheme of things. You could have a team that beat Duke and stomped nine "7-23" style teams and it could hypothetically have a worse RPI than a team that lost by 40 to Duke and barely beat nine "13-17" style teams. Basically, ND got screwed by the "bad" teams ND scheduled being reallllllllllly bad.

The committee will be in deep sh*t if Notre Dame is given the shaft by a team like Kansas. Simply put, there is nothing you can do to justify putting Kansas over ND. the Irish WON a VASTLY superior conference tournament and went 29-5 compared to Kansas who LOST to Iowa State and finished 26-8. There is no reason why the ACC champ shouldn't be a 2 seed, at least.

Virginia finished 28-6 last year and was a top seed.
Miami finished 29-7 in 2013 and was #2 seed.
Duke finished 30-4 and 29-5 and both times were a top seed.

It's only fair to put the champion of the best conference in a top 2 seeding.

RPI is 15. SOS is 95. Lunardi has us as a #3 still and just crapped on the non-conference SOS.

KenPom has us #10. Sagarin has us #9. Kansas is #11 in both. Tiny, tiny chance we move ahead of them for the last #2.

Not defending the process or any team, but if you didn't use some type of criteria trying to seed teams subjectively would never work. I believe Kansas played the toughest schedule in the country which helps their RPI. An easy way to fix the problem is to schedule better teams for the non-conference schedule.

no offense, but this type of thing pisses me off. ive had season tix since the early 00s and nobody supports the mens bb team. everyone goes off to their basketball team, mostly duke or iu or whatever top 10 program they can bandwagon. then when nd is "good" (except nd has been a perennial top 25 team under brey) the football fans come crawling out claiming to have been an nd fan the entire time.

im not hating on the bandwagon, just seems like the kids that have been busting their ass for the past 30 years deserved your fanhood every bit as much as this year's team.
