I forgot to put in my previous post, the screenwriter for "Alien Nation" is a guy named Rockne O'Bannion. Huh. I wonder if there's an outside chance that his parents were Irish Catholic Notre Dame fans.

Looking forward to seeing the Hunger Games movie tomorrow. I'm excited to see Natalie Dormer's role in the movie.

Watched "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes", very disappointed.

No Good Deed was pretty decent.

Haven't been impressed with anything I've seen lately besides American Sniper. Was planning on seeing Black Sea, Most Violent Year, and Kingsman sometime soon.

I was also disappointed with Dawn of the Plane of the Apes. I feel like my wife and I are the rare people that did not like gone girl. That said I think 2014 was a great year for film. I have yet to see Wild or American Sniper, but I feel like my three favorite films of 2014 could each have been a worthy best picture in most years, in order my favs were Boyhood, Imitation Game, and Selma. After those three would be Saint Vincent and Grand Budapest Hotel which were both amazing comedies. By far the most disappointing film was Birdman followed by Gone Girl.

Seen Whiplash, American Sniper, The Gambler, Selma, Nightcrawler and Interstellar. Whiplash was the best hands down. Second best I had Selma followed closely by Intersteller. Then American Sniper, The Gambler and finally Nightcrawler - in that order. Whiplash is badass. I'm going to watch Kill the Messenger soon - thought it looked very interesting. Also watched Louis C.K. Live at the Comedy store and nearly pissed my pants laughing.

I was just about to post in here about Black Sea. I really enjoyed it. I saw it described as Heart of Darkness on a submarine, but that's being a bit too generous. It's still pretty good and enjoyable. Jude Law was fantastic.

So, ... did you check under the pillow while you had the time?

It got put on hold for a few days. The youngest took a little time to get settled in bed. I have this nagging fear now that it'll be a Valentines night movie.......

I've been on a Clint Eastwood kick lately and watched Hang 'Em High this morning. One of the actors looked familiar but I couldn't place him so I looked him up. It's Jonathan Goldsmith, the most interesting man in the world. He plays Tommy, one of the cowboys that helps hang Eastwood and later tries to shoot him down.

On my phone it looked like BVG on the way to a Village People concert...

Ha! You are on a Clint kick and I am apparently on a Bruce Willis kick. Tuesday couldn't find anything on and blowing thru Netflix I saw Fifth Element and watched that. Last night couldn't find anything and going thru my digital library on Flixster, finally stopped on Die Hard (the original). My wife, who was reading looks up after 15-20 minutes and goes, are you watching another Bruce willis movie? I honestly didn't even think about it.

Amy Schumer Movie Trailer

Amy Schumer Movie Trailer

This doesn't technically fall into the "Movies You Just Saw" category; rather the "Trailer I Just Saw" department, but this Amy Schumer movie looks funny to me.

I readily admit to being a fan of sophomoric, and sometimes downright stupid, humor and this probably fits into that category.

But, if you guys haven't seen the trailer yet, it's on YouTube HERE.

Just a heads-up: This is the "Red Band" trailer, so it's not safe for work or in the midst of a family get-together.

I've become a fan of Bill Hader. I really liked him in "The Skeleton Twins". Plus, the John Cena scene in the trailer cracked me up!

Just watched Gone Girl. I enjoyed it throughout but the ending filled me with Hulk rage.

Just watched it today. Enjoyable movie. Entertaining, hungry throughout.
First time I saw it I thought I was gonna start eating the theatre seat. I was so hungry. I could also just watch Cuban sandwiches cook forever though.
