San Diego's paper gave the LBs the highest grade of any position group on the team, and said he led the team in tackles, if I recall correctly.

Sounds like he is at least establishing himself as a fixture, if not a star.

He was coming back from injury, so he seemed to have a snap count under him. He didn't play the amount of snaps that I saw him playing when healthy. That being said, he still had 6 tackles and was around the ball a lot.

Te'o was attempting to cover Stepfan Taylor when he caught the Cardinals' first TD pass. That was the only negative I saw.

From Matt Hinton's weekly CFB wrap:

Scooby Wright III, LB, Arizona: Wright, a true sophomore, was credited with 13 total tackles, five tackles for loss, two sacks, and a forced fumble in the Wildcats’ win over Arizona State, cementing his reputation as the most active, statistically gonzo linebacker in the nation. Compare Wright’s numbers in 2014 to Manti Te’o’s numbers when the latter was the runner-up for the freaking Heisman two years ago:

Wright has two games to surpass the FBS record of 32 TFLs in a season, set by Western Michigan’s Jason Babin in 2003. Maybe then Wright will finally get noticed by the people who run the Butkus Award.

From Matt Hinton's weekly CFB wrap:

Scooby has some insane stats for sure. And he's a great linebacker. And deserves Butkus recognition.

BUT...

Everybody should know that Te'o's Heisman run wasn't due to his daunting numbers (the only incredible ones being the passes defended and the interceptions). It was due to the premise that he was the leader of the best defense and only undefeated power 5 team in college football, that he made game-changing and game-winning plays EVERY week, successfully returned Notre Dame to glory, and he did it all while losing his grandmother and perceived girlfriend.

Yeah, exactly. At the time it was the #1 defense in CFB on the only undefeated team and those interceptions were often at game changing critical moments in huge games. It was the classic Heisman "best player on best team" logic that got him the votes he got.

Of course. But then again, Hinton isn't arguing that Wright should be a Heisman candidate, but a Butkus candidate. And I can't disagree with him there.

Got his first career interception tonight. Picked off Brady 3 yards short of the endzone.

Te'o earned every bit of shit he'll ever catch concerning the fake girlfriend.

I've probably heard and taken more shit than he ever will.

49ers' Anthony Davis Says He Asked Manti Te'o About His Imaginary Girlfriend | Bleacher Report

In other news, Te'o played in every snap, 74 in all, against the 49ers.

Here's his tweet:

I asked Manti Teo about his imaginary Girlfriend last night and he snapped. lol I thought that was hilarious.

— Bam Davis (@AnthonyDavis76) December 22, 2014

I wonder if he was lol'ing when he walked to the locker room after they got beat by the Chargers? A game where Teo played every snap, had 11 tackles and a QB Sack.

Good thing you made him "snap", Bam... he only went on to have his best game of the season. haha.

Guys drink and drive, shoot up a club, beat girls, etc, etc.

Manti had a fake girlfriend.

From all accounts, he is a model citizen, but he had a fake girlfriend. What a damn joke. Screw them haters and screw Johnny Manzel for stealing his heisman.
