So its irrelevant then.Yeah it's gone back and forth like 12 times.

IMO, what happened was really simple. They originally had man-to-man assignments. Then ND shifted and #26 tries to communicate to them that they are going to "zone it up" (i.e. pass off receivers).
Darby doesn't get that call and instead simply jumps Fuller to the inside and jams him... when he should've passed him off and worked to the outside on Robinson. The play was over the minute Darby jumped up and to the inside on Fuller.
Right.I don't understand why there is any doubt about who the penalty was called on. The referee clearly announced that it was on #7. I mean I could hear it clear as day, although Herbstreit apparently could not. Are people saying that the ref was just mistaken about the number? Or have they missed that, like Herbstreit did?
The official play-by-play of the game states that Prosise was called for an offensive pass interference penalty on a 2-yard touchdown pass from Everett Golson to Corey Robinson on fourth-and-goal with 13 seconds left, which would have put the Irish ahead 33-31, with an extra point pending.
Right.
Wrong. This has since been clarified. The ACC confirmed it was on CJ.
Rhoads, who was at the game, said that if the ball is touched before the receiver reaches the line of scrimmage, there is no pass interference. If, however, the ball is caught beyond the line of scrimmage, the contact is pass interference. Replays indicated that Robinson caught the ball beyond the line of scrimmage.
"Offensive players on pass plays are restricted from going downfield and blocking any time from the snap," Rhoads explained. "If the ball is first touched behind the line of scrimmage, that would be legal and it's OK. But if the ball is touched beyond the line, then it's pass interference."
The call was originally believed to be against C.J. Prosise, but officially it was made against Will Fuller.
What annoys me the most is that not one "expert" has addressed the fact that Darby takes 2 steps inside and engages Fuller. Because if they did address that then the whole point of the WR blocking becomes less valid and more of a judgement call.
Sh!tty call no matter who it was on. In goaline yardage most of the time the WR's are jammed at the line. I haven't watched what Fuller did on the play. But it was #8 from FSU complaining to the refs like he got blocked when he obviously jammed Procise at the line. Is it fair to assume the same happened to Fuller? Call a pushoff but not a basketball screen!
When/where did you see this?
They haven't addressed it because it is immaterial, by rule. By rule, the offensive player is responsible to avoid contact. It's my personal opinion that, if Fuller bounces off of Darby and runs around him, then there is no call. But, because he tried to go through Darby, there is prolonged contact, which then is flagged.

First-and-10
1. Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly remained angry on Sunday about the offensive pass interference call that wiped off the Corey Robinson touchdown that would have lifted the Fighting Irish to a win at Florida State. The day after the game, Kelly was more confused. “Actually, I have less clarity,” he said on a teleconference. “I guess it was actually called on Will Fuller, not C.J [Prosise]. Just adds more uncertainty as to the final play.”

This is allegedly the same ref that flagged Tuitt for targeting against Pitt last year.

Investigation! Get the Tallahassee PD on this stat!
Man, I have to say, two days later it stings a little more now that I let it marinate. Just F them ya know? Everybody that is saying that it was the right call is trying way too hard. We got jobbed, but can't change it. Time to move forward and kick some ass in the process! I also think that this can be the great motivator that springboards this team to elite status. Beating Stanford and Oklahoma in 12' and MSU in 13' proved a lot to me, but after Saturday I have no doubt we can get the job done against anyone!
They weren't complaining to the officials they were arguing with each other about the blown coverage. That is 1 part of this that is obvious, it shouldn't have been called. Ramsey turns around to yell at teammates for the way they played their coverage, not looking for a flag.
"Back and to the left... Back and to the left"
Either this guy is inept or I might just have to accept a conspiracy....

An ACC officiating crew making a very controversial call to keep their conference's only play-off contender undefeated? Psh. Nothing to see here!
