The staff is counting Wallace as a pass rusher/front 7 athlete similar to Kolin Hill

That's right..... I was thinking he was an OLB not a DE but I did read that recently. Who cares lol. We will have room.

Yeah, I would be a little disappointed if Coney wants in and we don't take him. We always have the extra room and this kid is too good to not accept. We have what we need, but now we have an opportunity to add difference makers. Hope he is all in!

My bad on Wallace guys. Based on his front page all his rankings were or OLB and intel posted said the Irish were recruiting him at OLB... I guess I missed that where they wanted him to play like Hill.

This was from Grahmbo on Wallace's front page
Cooks offered him.
- Its a big deal to him because not everyone gets an ND offer. They all get offers like ASU, Tenn or Nebraska.
- 40 year decision.
- Irish recruiting at OLB while others are recruiting him at DE.
- Education is important.
- Visiting won't be a problem.

Thanks for your time, you can go to Florida now!

You must be confused...

Coney is one of the staff's top wants for ILB. From everything I've read, Bilal is a OLB prospect and shouldn't change how they view Coney. IMO, he's still a take.

If I could only have one more guy to add to Barajas, I would've wanted Kirkland or Bilal.

If we're taking a 3rd guy and have that redundancy already in place, then I'd be really happy to have Coney. I like his physical nature a lot and think he could be really solid... just didn't want to risk a flake out/defection if we were only taking 2 total guys.

Same here, plus love locking down Indiana.

I saw that. I am giving GB a run for his money.

No, its time for me to get a new device. Typing on an iPhone 4 is almost unbearable now. Its almost not even worth editing typos from my fat thumbs.

I think you have to take Coney along with Barajas and Bilal.

And I think they will. The question comes back to schollies available. I don't know if this will light a fire under Coney, but since he's going to be an EE, I'm not as worried about a flip.

Not that there is any merit to this but I have three reasons why going out of state makes sense at this time for Coney.

1. The Criminoles
2. The Convicts
3. The Swamp Dumpster Fire.

Yeah, the way I read TP's post, it implied something besides the state of the football programs down there. You may have hit the nail on the head and I might have been reading too much into it.

Yeah, and I do not understand where the spots are coming from. By my reckoning we are already full, lol. But if there is anything I've learned over the last few years, it's not to worry about that.

Forgot he was an inside guy. Saw the thread title and didn't think we'd take 3 OLB type guys plus another LB in Barajas. Seems to be a defense focused class for sure.

He did that this morning before Bilal committed. Unless Wiltfong was given bad info earlier, I don't see how we take Coney if the staff had told Bilal, Coney and Kirkland that we were taking one more LB, first come first serve.

If the staff told the recruits that, you risk looking less than truthful and risk Bilal flipping if you take Coney.

Maybe Wiltfong was given bad info about only taking one more LB.

I'd still take Coney even after we landed Bilal...unless if Hilliard is having cold feet.

TP,
Please expound on why they think it would be best for him to go out of state.

Maybe he pushed his announcement date back because ESPN asked him? As far as his decision being based on coaching stability, Florida looks a lot more dicey than ND at the moment. I know BK has had to put up with the Frozen Five scenario, but he's not seeing pressure from others like Muschamp. Also, even with the "FF", Kelly is getting close enough to winning the NC that I think he stays at least until he gets back to the NCG.

Just that some people around him think that its best for him to leave the state. I think they understand the opportunity that Notre Dame presents for a young man on and off the field that you just dont get at Florida. Sure, Florida is a great football school and the chances to make the NFL are just as good. Hell, even the the Florida degree itself isnt that bad. But, as a personal development level, I think ND is in a league with few others.

Cody Riggs stated if he had it to do over again, he would have came to ND for 4 years. I think that in itself is a huge statement bc Riggs loves Florida. The people make ND and i think the people around Coney understand that.

Anna just stated that we would take Coney as well

Good. It'd be stupid to pass on a solid LB from Florida, especially with our inability to get to 85 and uncertainty around when or if 4 suspended guys will come back.

Oh, in the end we always have plenty of scholarships. I'd be more worried about playing time, as we can only put 11 of these guys on the field at once. But that's something that tends to sort itself out. Take him.
