I don't know if anyone is saying "Cam McDaniel is bad" or "Cam McDaniel shouldn't play." I think we have three very good tailbacks. I think many of us just question the strategy of using three backs equally versus more of a "featured back" system.

Another option that doesn't get discussed much is using two or three of these guys at the same time. There's no rule that says only one of them can line up next to Golson, and there are a number of ways that they can be used to keep the defense guessing. I'd love to see split backs, wing backs, or jet motion.

It wasn't a big deal b/c EG took it in for a score. What if he EG gets crushed, fumbles, they take it the other way for six and Golson is out for three weeks with concussion? I suspect we'd be here questioning why the coaches are playing someone that doesn't know the plays.

Well...either you were the epitome of perfection when you played this game, or you are thinking todays game is just way more simple than what it is. I'm sure Greg was in the huddle, singing the latest rap song, telling Everett to suck it when he gave out the count. he leaned in, which means he anticipated trying to get a head start so to speak. you're going to hang your hat on that penalty?

agree completely. What happened to the H-Back set that we showed with Koyack or Luatua(sp) in the back field? whats wrong with a lead blocker?

What's your guess on that? Put me down for DMX: Up in here. But it could be something more fresh.

What if Golson throws a pass to Fuller, he drops it, the ball bounces back to Golson, hits him in the head, and kills him!?!?

If LaMichael James can lead block, Cam McDaniel can lead block.

So you think when a college player makes one mistake, that's enough to warrant cutting back their time going forward?

That's fine, but I don't agree in that short of a leash. Young players learn the most in games, and you use it to teach them and let them correct it, not a one and done mentality.

No. However, if there is a fine line between players, mental mistakes can be the determining factor of who plays. As I said in a prior post, we're winning games with EG's arm not our RB's legs. RB mistakes that cost our QB his health or a chance to win a game aren't excusable.

To be clear, I want GB to earn the bulk of the carries. I think it'll make it easier on our offensive line, and he's the most talented (in my opinion).

And he clearly knew the cadence. If he didn't know it, he would have jumped, rather than leaned. There's a difference.

I don't think it was clear. Hesitant movement is usually a sign of not knowing the count and simply guessing. It's a mental mistake either way.

Well...either you were the epitome of perfection when you played this game, or you are thinking todays game is just way more simple than what it is. Anyone that has ever played the game understands how often this sentence is muttered as you're walking to the line of scrimmage: "yo, dude, what's the fvcking count?" It's a mental mistake and coaches love hanging their hats on mental mistakes.

If I need 1 yard:
-GB, hits the hole faster than Cam and fights for yards
-Cam, runs straight and fights for yards
-TF, faster than Cam, but not sure if he'd run straight are or try to out-juke someone

If I need a big play:
-GB, faster, stronger, and quicker than the other 3
-TF, just slightly over Cam due to speed alone
-Cam, a stud but more susceptible to being caught from behind than the other two

If I need a key block:
-Cam, far more experienced in this department than the other two
-TF
-GB

If it were my depth chart:
-GB
-Cam
-TF

... Let them get in a groovy. I love Cam ... but time to let Folston and Bryant loose.

This kind of groovy, KeenYes?

Are you talking about when he was called for false start for leaning forward as the snap came? That's not an inexcusable penalty IMO. An inexcusable penalty is something that's a mental lapse. Being excited isn't that IMO. So Bryant went the wrong way once, big deal. It's not like he has a track record of that. Doesn't fumble either, which is true for all the RBs.

I agree that it isn't an inexcusable penalty (or even an issue as long as it is just one or tow) but false start is the epitome of a mental lapse penalty.

3's a crowd. I'd prefer GB/TF to get the heavy bulk. And Cam to be used everywhere.

I just want to see them give someone some bulk. These guys never get to warm up to the game. They're all talented, just let one grind out a few series.

I totally agree. The offense has been pretty good so I can't get too mad but you can just feel it. With that said last week a couple of GB's carries we're so frustrating because if he just uses his god given athletic ability and runs hard he would have had some really nice pick ups. Thinking too much

If there is one defense left on our schedule to get a run game going, it's against this UNC defense. I say Bryant starts and gets a good chunk of yards in the first half and helps finish the game off in the second.
