I knew the video game comment would get you guys going.

That's your generation's thing... glad I missed it by a few years.

Now kids... and adults play video games every day... all day. Maybe they want to play dungeons and dragons online with their buddies instead of following sports?

More power to them. Nothing is more worthless than a grown man having his weekend ruined because some 19-year old kids he's never even met didn't play well enough on his TV screen.

False. Those two things are equally worthless.

Same here, Although I was pretty good at Astroids, Ms. PacMan, Qix and Burger Time in my day. Having to pluck a quarter into the machine always kept you from getting too addicted.

Can I find a ride back to the recruiting thread please? Wow this got out of a hand in a hurry. Right now we are 1 of 2 teams he will possibly commit to play for. If his personality doesn't lend itself to the recruiting game then I like it all the more. It has become such a circus that I wouldn't like it either. He knows what ND represents and can watch us if he wants to. I'd rather he love our academics, family atmosphere, coaching staff, and current players/commits. Let's all take step back from the edge of the cliff before we fall smack into the middle of crazy town.

I thought falling smack into the middle of crazy town was the entire point of recruit threads. Or is that the point of the rumored violations thread?

Per TV, several ND coaches are expected to be at his game Friday night, making the trip over from Indy (the whole team and staff is going out Friday). Loy is hearing he may not be coming to the game Saturday after all, but that indications are ND is still sitting pretty.

So interesting note from Wiltfong. Bilal is a team guy and he doesn't want his team to think that his recruitment is more important than winning a state championship. He's locked in to winning a ring.

It's pretty refreshing to read this. It seems most kids these days crave the limelight and the process. It's hard to fault him for it. I still don't understand why he won't attend a game on Saturday. It literally has no affect on his team. To each their own. Overall this sounds like a positive recruitment for ND in the end.

That is impressive to say the least. He would fit in very well in this locker room.

Completely commend the kid for his actions but agree with the thought of "what harm is really being done?" I guess if he takes visits then he gets bombarded with calls about the visit and that might be the actual distraction.

Ben Davis is on the west side of Indy. Short drive from downtown. They host Center Grove which is one of the better teams in their conference. Should be a good game.

Many high school teams watch video or lift together as a team on Saturdays.

Told Anna he isn't going as well. May visit for Stanford, may visit a Michigan game. Does not like the process. She also made it a point to note that she speaks directly with him, not to his coaches or anyone around him.

Just playing devil's advocate. If you don't like the process so much, go to a couple of early games and take it in. It might help you decide.

You've already been to each campus and know about the school, campus, and coaches.

If I were a recruit, I would commit to a school I loved, if I felt sure.
Otherwise, I would wait until signing day. A lot of things can happen between now and February.

Including losing your opportunity to attend X school because your spot was filled.
