Yep. Official is in December. Although mentioned and deleted, it wouldn't surprise me if he just hopped on the Fertitta family's private jet for this weekend. haha

And on that note, if you're a kid from Las Vegas who is already friends with the Fertitta family...you go to Notre Dame and get a top notch business degree and after football you make a ridiculous amount of money in Las Vegas working in their organization. This recruitment should be over the moment he realized he would be, more than any other non-billionaire player, set for life if he picked Notre Dame.

This is deep man .... Real deep...

But Nico is an undersized 3 :s:! Really questionable offer by the staff.

I'm on record here 1) wondering if he'll ever start considering the deeeeeep DB class, and 2) saying his connections might be the most unique and powerful recruiting draw possible.

Yes.

That doesnt change because he got an elite recruit to visit with him.

Did you feel the same way about Robby Toma's offer?

Regardless, I'd bet a large sum that Nico will justify his scholly outright at Nickelback, just like Toma did at Z WR. But even if he doesn't, Nico's already earned his offer for the reasons outlined by Buster above.

There is no doubt in my mind that Fertitta will earn his scholarship both on and off the field like you are saying. He will make plays at the Nickel position and on special teams. He may so help us land the # 1 TE in the class. Pretty stoked about the pick-up myself!

At the same time though, would Robby Toma's prospects for playing time look good if he were committing in the '15 class and guys like CJ Procise, Torii Hunter, CJ Sanders, Jalen Guyton, and Justin Brent etc on the roster?

Can we please refrain from using the term, "Nickleback" on here?

Any talk of Acamp's favorite band doesn't belong on IE.

Per TV, they're hearing he'll take an OV in December to ND. This will go down to the wire but they both like their CB's for ND. One interesting note is that the ND and BG staffs have a lot of respect for one another.

- A lot of times when we are recruiting out of region we don't have that upperhand. Here it seems like we do. Also, what a great school to have a solid relationship with. Always producing talent.

I think thats part of it but I'd also add that at one point he wasn't getting a lot of attention from many schools. Over the summer a lot of people thought he was average at camps and didn't stack up to the other players around.

The principal of Gorman, Kevin Kiefer, is a Notre Dame graduate(BA and MA). He was all smiles, at a press conference, when Ronnie Stanley announced his commitment to Notre Dame.

Hmmmm... so when a national recruiting powerhouse says we have this stud kid, who is a little undersized, but plays the right way and really gets it, it's smart to make the offer and show some real trust?

Absolutely huge to keep a foothold at Gorman. If you haven't seen their weight room, check it out.

If one of our recruits took an unofficial and then immediately scheduled a return official visit for right before decision time when no games are happening we'd consider him gone.

So by counter logic, I'm feeling really positive here.

Agreed, not sure if it was II or BGI but somebody made this point and said that they feel pretty confident that Aliz'e was aware at how pissed UCLA's staff would be but he was ok with it. Also, the reason it was kept under wraps wasn't because it was just to have fun.

Post ND visit, UCLA calls Aliz'e: "We heard you visited the ND game. You know we don't like to find out this way and don't like commits visiting other schools".

Aliz'e: "Yeah, about that. I'll be going again in December".

UCLA: "..."

You guys just coming around to the power of Team Ferttita? Seriously fellas?

As SOON as his older brother who's in his second year at Nova was a junior, they should have offered him too. They'd be 3 years deeper into Bishop Gorman's pockets.

...and after seeing Nicco play I am going to go on record and say, he will be a cross between Mike Anello and Tom Zbikowski and every bit the fan favorite both were. He hits like a truck and he's playing against the best in the country... this isn't some kid from Podunk Kansas playing 8 on 8. They play the best schedule I've ever seen.

The only thing that keeps Jones out of South Bend is if he wants guaranteed playing time his freshman year. ND is stacked at the position obviously BUT you can pretty much guarantee a big check after 3-4 years of service. It's a tough choice.

What will be interesting is if Broadus wants to part of the posse or maybe more importantly... if Snoop wants to hang with all the celebs at the "Country Club".... I mean Notre Dame Stadium... or if he wants to lead his kid back to LA to his beloved Trojans or the crosstown Bruins. Wonder how Snoop would feel every Saturday having to sit next to another player's parent who's sold 3x as many albums?
