Per a source, Florida looks to be replacing the WR coach with Bruce Pearl.

Unbelievable. Granted, Hill's infraction occurred while he was at Miami, but Florida's last 2 WR coaches had "personal reasons" coincide when ncaa infractions arose.

It really is the wild, wild west for so many of these programs.

I find it hard to believe that's the entire story. Bump violations aren't THAT big of a deal that you need your best recruiter to resign over it

There were photographs of him eating lunch with a recruit during a dead period. How would he or Florida ever justify that that was a "bump?" I think they had no choice but to let him go.

I'm not doubting that it happened or saying that it isn't a violation. But I thought that was still a minor infraction. I could be wrong

I think, in general, a bump infraction is minimal (secondary), but this goes way beyond a simple bump infraction.

Nothing more, of course, will ever come out of this. In fact, I'm sure the ncaa will probably give florida a plaque now for their exemplary behavior in letting him go.

In a surprise move, Joker Phillips resigned as Florida’s wide receivers coach on Wednesday. FootballScoop.com reported that Phillips was turned in by a rival program for “bumping” into a 2016 recruit recently.
However, that’s very minor on the spectrum of recruiting violations and certainly should not have led to UF head coach Will Muschamp forcing Phillips to resign as has been reported. But from what we hear from an outstanding source is that some dealings from Phillips’ time as Kentucky’s head coach might have finally caught up with him.

O rly? Is that why Kentucky was good all those years?

Seriously though, isn't this what people are suggesting is going to happen with Tosh?

In all honesty tho, this shit has to wear on him. At what point does he say fuck it if there is a decent offer on the table?

This is the kind of thing that would be a big deal anywhere. If the tutor stepped forward, what is the school going to do? Not sure Kelly wants to be anywhere that is going to cover up a big time scandal like this.

Don't disagree with that. I guess it's more of all the shit he has had to put up with over the years. It's a headache for sure. Hell, it drags me down and I am outsider looking in....

I'd be out ASAP if I was him.

If they burn all of 2012 to the ground and expel four key players... yeah i would be too if I were a coach. Bottom line in 2014, cfb coach's job is the win games.

It wasn't funny the first time you posted it in the other thread, before you rushed over to this one in hopes that you could bring your funny to a bigger audience. It was stupid the first time, it was stupid the second.

It clogged the main page, created more tension and frankly annoyed everyone.
