Per 247 expected to flip to LSU by the end of the week...

Arizona offered Brandon McIlwain today...

Goes to my rival school. Probably a better baseball player (he was throwing 90 in 8th grade (I know)). I don't think too highly of him as a qb, but he started since his freshman year so he has two more years to develop in hs. Anyway, he's probably irrelevant to notre dame, but I got excited that I knew someone.

Edit: I see 247 has him rated very highly, which either means I suck at recognizing talent or they bank on his potential. Who knows, with ratings that high as a dual threat guy, maybe nd will get involved as a backup plan.

We have to put an exciting product out before these qb's take full consideration of what ND has to offer.

You guys are intense. The only thing bad about what has happened so far is Barnett and Waller got everybody all excited cuz they ooked like the RKQB in regards to skill set but come on... You guys know the branding game these kids play with the ND name. Neither had no intention of sitting behind Malik for 3 years. His spring game KILLED this years QB chances. Next years chances are gonna be tough too. There's a lot of rubber left on our QB's tires. Kids are gonna go where they can have a shot to play by year 2. Nobody in this class or next is playing until at least 2018.

They'll get a low 4 star...maybe high 3 star kid next year... then the highest rated dual threat QB in 2017 when Kizer takes over for his one and only year as the starter in 2018. In 2019, Kyles Murray will follow his head coach Kevin Sumlin to ND for his grad year.

The end.

I wouldn't be concerned just yet. If EG stays the second year, that would leave MZ to take over. Kizer backs him up for a year but Kizer won't scare off any of the elite QBs coming out of high school. For depth purposes, it would be great to land a solid QB for '16, but '17 probably would offer the best chance to get that once in a decade program changer. A lot of things have to happen between now and then, but hitting the panic button just yet is premature IMO.

Where's he going? The NFL or Canada?

After all the school he missed last year added to what he didn't get credit for regarding the academic misconduct, he's going to be under the gun to graduate by the end of the upcoming calendar year which would stop him from both a 5th year at ND and doing a grad year somewhere else.

This is the biggest question I have regarding ND football overall.

It's his 4th year associated with the program obviously but wouldn't you bet the house that he has under 90 hours... I wish I knew how many hours he had right now and could read his NCAA academic progress report.

I've asked the question before without it being answered.... What happens if he doesn't graduate by the end of the 2014-2015 academic calendar? Would ND allow him to play as a Redshirt Senior?

BGIF???

***Did you see Kaner had 5 goals and 5 assists in a Buffalo men's league today? I would rather have guarded Jordan while I was wearing flip flops than to be on the ice with him.

I laughed at this. Have you ever seen Saban, Mora, Stoops, Muschamp, etc on the sideline? They ain't no virgin ear lasses blushing at a cuss word. They are in there players faces screaming and yelling just as much as Kelly if not more so.

I've seen them and know they can light someone up. I don't have a problem with BK doing that either. You have to remember, the first time that happened, it wasn't just on national TV, the clip was replayed over and over everywhere for a few days. What made it so different, is that BK turned a shade of purple most of us thought only a chameleon could achieve. Doesn't matter if he never did it again. That image is out there. Before he met BK, I believe it was Barnett who said he wasn't sure if he could play for a coach that was that intense. That tells me there are some, right or wrong that may shy away from BK because of this.

It seems like it'll be forever, but I think the Rees/poor BK QB play era will be burried to rest after the Michigan game.

We've seen average at best QB play recently, and we're all much older than these kids who are choosing schools. Imagine their memories of ND QBs? Rees getting sacked, throwing a duck, and getting delay of games at the LOS.

Golson/Malik will make this a desireable location for years to come, but kids have to see it first and it can't come soon enough.

I thought ND football players were put on a schedule to graduate in 3 1/2 years so they have a semester off at the end of senior year? Anyway, between that, his summer class opportunities, and the fact he was an EE I'm not really worried ND will push him out the door after this season for not having insufficient credit hours.

What do they think the NFL is like? All sunshine and rainbows? That shit builds character and makes you stronger. He tries to get the absolute best out of his guys. If you can't see it and want the easier path, go for it but you're guaranteed to hit a wall sometime in life, hope you're prepared because if you can't handle a college coach then good luck.

Just me personally but thats the type of coach I want for me and I'd want for my son. But as someone pointed out earlier, its not like Nick Saban is a bundle of joy. Plenty of videos of him going nuts. Not to mention he made an NFL player cry. I'd love to play for a guy like that.

Winning cures all. EG's play will bring all the QBs to the yard. Jawon Pass, Malik Henry and some guys we probably haven't heard of yet.

You take that back! lol I really do think that BK got the absolute most out of Rees and then some. Would love to see the kid turn into a coach. I think he'd be a helluva coach.

That makes sense if you are choosing Richt over Kelly, not Saban.

Saban's players like but definitly fear him. He is not laid-back on any level whatsoever, and he is not pals with his players.

Per Wiltfong, he'll be very surprised if Shea went anywhere other than LSU.

Not really news but thought I'd post anyways.

The two people that I know who are not intimidated by Saban are his wife and Pawwwwwl

From Shea Dixon about the LSU Camp:
I've got some pics but seeing them just standing side by side, Franks has 2-3 inches on Patterson. Patterson is a lot more filled out. You can tell Franks has the frame to put on some good weight.

Both are being complemented for their footwork and touch. Other QBs in the group are Jon Randall Belton, Jyru Campbell (?), Lowell Narcisse and Sterling-Cole.

I hope Patterson goes to LSU, maybe Franks would look at ASU instead though he'd be a year behind Brady White in Tempe. My guess is he went to LSU for Mainieri and baseball first and football second. I don't know anything about Baton Rouge but everyday is a Playboy shoot in Tempe. Unlike anything I've ever seen.

Their 2015 commit is apparently no slouch either:

Another quote from Shea Dixon
Shea Patterson just dropped some "wow" moments. Read a low safety on one rep and popped a perfect spiral over the top. His touch is really special. Maybe the best I've seen from 2016.

Interesting on Jayru. Did WWE pull his offer?

Several posters on the 247 thread I'm following have said to stay away from him.

Agreed. I would take a flyer on Jason Pellerin way before getting Campbell. I know he is a former Cass Tech kid, but when you get kicked out of school for assulting a teacher, that is drawing the line IMO.
