Maybe this is the staff thinking Ty'son is going to UGA and being afraid to whiff on the other RB targets. Either way, good to get another good athlete committed.

Scout: Josh will play RB and was cleared 2 months ago regarding his injury.

In other words, if a PSU RB decommits, he gone.

Yeah, maybe that's an overstatement but he allegedly wore PSU gear on his ND visit and I never heard any good vibes coming out of it.

We've been down this road of being a "backup" school for a lot of kids and it rarely ends well. I'm trying to think of a time it did, but can't. I'm sure there is one. The best I can come up with was Cierre Wood who USC wanted only if he was willing to play safety so he came to ND and did decent. Also Jonas Gray I think wanted Michigan but didn't get the offer and he worked out well for us. But the number of kids who commit to ND while waiting on another offer that they want more and then eventually head elsewhere is quite high.

We'll see what happens but the only two positions where we can't afford misses this year are RB and DT so I'm crossing my fingers here (assuming that the staff took him as one of our two RBs).

Kolin Hill had Texas on top for a long time, and many said "He Gone" when Strong did offer at the last minute.

Gotta say that his film looks good. Hard to tell what kind of competition his school plays...does anyone know? Though his commitment might show the hand of where the staff really feels it stands with Soso,I like this pick up. Welcome Josh!!

What's our best ACTUAL guess? I've seen ranges from 5'11" to 6'3" and 175 to 210.

By all accounts of people who saw him in person at II he was in the 6'2" to 6'3" range and north of 200.

I dont think this indicates all that much, if anything, it might mean more about Ty'son William than Soso. The staff said they were going after 2 backs this year if they were the right ones. Soso is the superstar and Adams could be the complimentary back.

Judging from the full-body picture of him at Irish Invasion tweeted out by ISD there's no way he's 200 pounds.

Misleading because he has disproportional head-to-body. Seriously. It's an illusion from his gaunt features.

FWIW, Scout reported Josh wanted the opportunity to compete at RB at the least and isn't opposed to switching sides of the ball. But he will be a RB at ND to start, Alford talked about how he would be used.

If we get as much production as we expect from the RB position, I wouldn't be surprised to Josh reaffirm his commitment even if PSU opens up a position.

Further, I do not expect PSU to be very good. I think Hackenburg is going to be really good but their team will not be a hot topic this year.

This is a bit puzzling...I trust the staff, but I guess I thought we were after some bigger fish. Maybe we got a good db here...

Just watched the jr film and it seems he is just learning the game...goes down pretty easily..looks like a balance thing?

No intensity though...tall and skinny...not a good pass blocking combo...

He has a burst getting to the edge though:)

Snippet on Adams from ISD, who saw him up close and personal at II:
Right now he weighs 205 pounds and has the frame to get to 225 or 230. His potential to be a ‘big back with speed and elusiveness’ is tremendous. Once he’s able to combine that type of size with explosive athleticism, the sky’s the limit with what he’ll bring to the next level. Any defender attempting to tackle him will wonder if he’s going to get faked out of his jockstrap or ran over like a truck. Those are the types of scenarios that keep linebackers and defensive backs up at night.

I think there are some comparisons to be made to Ty Isaac in terms of style. I know many aren't a fan of that type of back.

Wiltfong says the staff wants one more RB but two more is a possibility depending on how things go.

His competition honestly isn't the best. One or two, if any, D1 prospects come out of his conference each year. BUT, he kills it week after week, puts up big numbers regularly.

Sounds like they are projecting some bigger upside on this kid as he physically matures. Already a 4*, top 20 RB in the class based on playing 25 pounds lighter as a junior. Throw another 25 pounds of muscle (mostly on his legs) and I think you have an interesting story.

I think BK and Co. have been pretty good at picking these later bloomers out of the crowd. Already an impressive athlete and turns into a monster if he can add 50 pounds relative to his junior tape (I'm assuming he was 175-180).

Seeing how he was just in for II and the staff got a good look at him bulked up significantly from last fall, I have no qualms with the offer and excited for the commitment.

I am surprised to see "bruising big back" labeled here where he looks thin, runs high and doesn't run over hardly anyone in the highlight video. Makes me curious if that is what he is bringing to camps since he really didn't need to do that in HS and coaches in camps may be putting him to that challenge.

Me too. According to the composite, 11 of our 15 players committed are three stars. And last year was not much better. Meanwhile, SEC teams, OSU and even USC are getting a lot of five stars. I'm the first to question the quality of the rankings though.
