Looks Like A Two Team Race For Waller
-Ohio State has not offered Anaheim (Calif.) Servite Top50 quarterback Travis Waller.
-Northwestern does not typically beat the likes of Alabama and Notre Dame for a prospect.
That leaves the Crimson Tide and Irish when talking about the country’s No. 2 dual-threat quarterback according to 247Sports, who plans to make a college decision on July 1. All four schools made Waller's top four on Monday evening.
The 247Sports Crystal Ball isn’t indicative of how close this battle is. Notre Dame is the favorite with 78 percent of the 37 forecasts. The Irish may very well land Waller, and communication between the two parties has been strong, but Alabama certainly has a better than eight percent shot to score the U.S. Army All-American, who will visit Tuscaloosa with his mother on Tuesday evening through Wednesday, as first reported by BamaOnLine. Notre Dame will also get its shot to impress when Waller visits later this month, but it’s not a foregone conclusion that the blue-chipper will end up at either school.
247Sports also reported that former Notre Dame quarterback commit in Top100 standout Blake Barnett will visit Alabama on Thursday. All signs point to Oregon for Barnett, but the Crimson Tide was the other school to watch besides the Ducks when Barnett was in the fold for the Irish.
Alabama currently has the nation’s top-ranked recruiting class according to 247Sports with 14 of the 18 commits ranking four-stars or better.
