Wiltfong uses the CB not as a competition but for subscribers to see where he thinks a certain prospect will land as of that day. So he puts it at foggy when he isn't sure where to go. That way if readers log on they can see what he's thinking at all times.

That's what I thought. Good for him and the fans.

So there really is no 'points' advantage to having it foggy at any point then, correct?

Yup, he's basically the only guy who uses the feature as a value added to the masses. Per all the random reports out there starting last night it sure sounds like Bama is making a move. AS LONG AS he sticks to his July 1st timelines I think we'll have a really good shot... but there's always the chance that he never makes it through the visit. Fingers crossed.

Agreed, as long as we get our visit I think we're in good shape. I too am worried he gets the hard press from Bama and commits. I'm sure Saban has already filled him with all sorts of good info :)

Barton Simmons is pretty good too IMO and a couple, very very few, team analysts are good. The Alabama 247 guys are pretty fair and accurate from what I've noticed for example.

24 7 mods from Bama are very fair. Some think there homers when it comes to picking kids but almost every top prospect chooses Bama. I remember last year they were the only two that really had Hand and Tony Brown going to Bama and both ended up there.

I don't think Waller will eat the plane tickets, I think he will wait around and see what ND has to offer. I am not sure where this Alabama momentum is coming from. I saw a tweet yesterday from a Tennessee guy who said "expect Bama to land Waller on Tuesday". Basically UTjr fans said to just ignore everything he ever says.

That's exactly right from what I can tell. Seems the Bama hype is exclusively from that UT reporter.

Charles Powers is pretty solid on 247. Also, Andrew Bone is pretty well on it with the Bama happenings. Those would be the first two Bama sources in my book.

Looks Like A Two Team Race For Waller

-Ohio State has not offered Anaheim (Calif.) Servite Top50 quarterback Travis Waller.

-Northwestern does not typically beat the likes of Alabama and Notre Dame for a prospect.

That leaves the Crimson Tide and Irish when talking about the country’s No. 2 dual-threat quarterback according to 247Sports, who plans to make a college decision on July 1. All four schools made Waller's top four on Monday evening.

The 247Sports Crystal Ball isn’t indicative of how close this battle is. Notre Dame is the favorite with 78 percent of the 37 forecasts. The Irish may very well land Waller, and communication between the two parties has been strong, but Alabama certainly has a better than eight percent shot to score the U.S. Army All-American, who will visit Tuscaloosa with his mother on Tuesday evening through Wednesday, as first reported by BamaOnLine. Notre Dame will also get its shot to impress when Waller visits later this month, but it’s not a foregone conclusion that the blue-chipper will end up at either school.

247Sports also reported that former Notre Dame quarterback commit in Top100 standout Blake Barnett will visit Alabama on Thursday. All signs point to Oregon for Barnett, but the Crimson Tide was the other school to watch besides the Ducks when Barnett was in the fold for the Irish.

Alabama currently has the nation’s top-ranked recruiting class according to 247Sports with 14 of the 18 commits ranking four-stars or better.

FWIW Biggins reported the Waller could commit to OSU if he wanted, the "offer" just has not been made public. But for what he has been told OSU would accept Waller if he wanted to commit.

That's kind of a relief. One less question mark.

Just noticed Troy Niklas Anaheim Servite as well as Steve Beurlein. I do not know if Travis will come to Notre Dame but I think Travis will have a full opportunity to understand what Notre Dame means and what Notre Dame is. At Notre Dame you are not a piece of meat. At Notre Dame you are a student and you are a football player. What a shocking, amazing, mind blowing concept - STUDENT-ATHLETE.

I strongly believe he ends up at ND and his best football is very much ahead of him
Reminds me a lot of Brandon Harris from last year

His Composite rating is 0.9623 (Barnett's is 0.9671). That would make him the highest rated recruit in our '15 class by a healthy margin. Kizer's rating was 0.9073; big difference.

His verbal, given the timing of Barnett's decommitment and his connection to ESB, would be huge.

Perhaps you're not as high on him as some others. That's fine. Feel free to breakdown his tape for us and let us know why you're skeptical. But there's no reason to leave a thoughtless comment like "not a fan".

We're all Irish fans here, so that kind of stuff is obnoxious to read. Negative comments are held to a higher standard of scrutiny.

There's nothing to break down. It's 95 percent runningin his highlight video... absolutely tremendous athleticism but there's nothing in that film that says oh wow that's a deadly combo ... Therefore, not a fan. I don't get the hoopla. Maybe camps are different and he's throwing bullets, but I'm not feeling it

As for the ESB connection, does anyone really think they are a package deal? So if you like him because of that then that proves my point as to there's much to be desired

Please I've posted on this board for over 2 years, I think this is the first time I came close to not being enthusiastic about a recruit that has a good chance of picking ND
