I don't know enough about his recruitment to know what schools he has visited. I do know he's been high on Northwestern. Cal is the only place I know he has visited. He holds an offer from Arizona, who thought they were getting Sheriron Jones.

So it would really suck if we got burned here by getting in too late and he commits to one of his other options that may or may not be turning up the heat to try to preempt a visit to ND. I'll be crossing my fingers though.

The thing is this seems like really odd timing if it is anything other than ND. You have had all of these other offers for months and haven't acted on any of them, then as soon as you get what is arguably your biggest one you pop for another? I would think if he was leaning another way you would at least see a visit to ND or at least a little more time to consider. Especially since there has been speculation of an OSU offer later on as well, what's the rush right now if it isn't ND. From all accounts Kelly put all three QB's on the clock.

I really don't know what to think if this isn't ND.

If he's committing tomorrow, it's to ND. I know he hasn't visited, but I think he knows it's first come, first serve with regards to the wave of new QB offers. I doubt he would commit to another school immediately after getting an ND offer, especially since he seems very excited about the offer.

Maybe i'm late on this but he is now following Kelly, Elliott, Lafleur and Barajas on twitter. Maybe nothing serious because he also follows other coaches but it's encouraging. BTW i didn't know that Alabama hired Lupoi :O (he follows him on twitter too).

Steve Beurelein Anaheim Servite. I hope Steve and Travis have gotten together and Steve has let Travis know what Notre Dame is and what Notre Dame stands for and that he is extremely happy he attended Notre Dame as a student-athlete and played QB for the Fighting Irish.

Blake Barnett and Trent Irwin may be a package for someone. Both have paired well at camp settings, and the chemistry between the two at Sunday's Rivals 7 on 7 competition was spectacular.

I would tend to think that ND wouldnt allow a QB to commit before seeing ND first. Granted, I could be really wrong, but if I was Kelly, I would like a QB to visit and see if he fits before he commits with 1 decommit in the class already.

This was my concern as well.

Yes, and that may be popular, but we saw with Clausen, an elite QB, a team does not make. ESB, I think will be a big time player, and there are other QB's in the next class.....just my .02$ worth....

I will be excited if less than two weeks after losing our QB, we have another in the fold. And I will root for this QB as hard as I would've the other QB. Love thee Notre Dame, keep filling the roster and stacking players.

Waller is still a Top 150 QB, we just finished with Tommy Rees and Andrew Hendrix as our 1,2 punch. And I love those young men for giving us everything but we are recruiting a different level of player now.

Zaire - 4 years remaining
Kizer - 4 years remainig (plus redshirt this year)
Waller? - great addition to this stable of QBs

I'll be very happy to get Travis Waller and then I'll be happy get every other player that wants to play for our team.

Clausens commitment was huge for Notre Dame. The teams may not have been on par with the recruiting classes...but he paved the way for top kids to start coming to Notre Dame. Kids want to play with talent. Clausen was talented and was huge in landing kids, that have had great careers. Golden, Floyd, Rudolph, Eifert, Cierre, Theo, Manti, Harrison, etc..These are the guys ND is selling now to recruits with their success in the NFL.

I dont think Clausen will make the Bears team, but him signing with the Bears right as we lose our QB is great news. It puts a former ND QB in the news while potential recruits are doing their research on ND.

That is the question indeed. We could possibly land two elite WR's this year in ESB and Ofodile. Really wonder how much Blake's de-commitment is gonna effect us here?

I would give up a half in Barnett for a all-in and unafraid of competition Waller and ESB 100 times out of 100. If a QB is not 100% bought into a team, coach, system, etc, he won't be successful (and probably wouldn't stick around). Give me kids who want to be here.

Give me Waller and ESB, Blake don't want to compete then he has no place with the Irish, I want kids like Golson and Malik, unafraid to compete for that spot, nothing given to them
