I thought the same thing and asked if ND played hardball and was told no.
I refused to go to the 247 board last evening so who said that?

Don't remember quoting you or anyone but if you want to be held accountable then so be it.
You want to be an optimist all the time, that's your right. It's stale bread though. You purposely ignore the reality of every single situation and get mad when others are frustrated. Keep it to yourself. When 100 people are pissed about something and you are one of like 4 guys that gets mad at everyone else, then that's on you. We aren't "nancys" or whatever you like to call us. It's emotional investment. I follow Notre Dame football with my heart and mind---sometimes the heart takes over.
I'll send you the 12 bucks right now if you think your varsity club status (which I also held for a couple years up until it recently expired) entitles you to ignore reality and call me or whoever else out because we get upset about a BAD THING happening to our program. The way you talk you make it sound like Barnett going elsewhere is a positive. That's just naive.
You want to post something positive to cope with a decommit, that's cool with me. If I want to post a bunch of curse words and get temporarily mad at the world because that's how I cope, then let me do that without calling me some name.

Where is everyone getting the idea that hes no longer considering ND at all?

Anyone that believes he's not going to Oregon raise you hand! Bueller? Bueller?
Reading between the lines here, he's very clearly heading to Oregon. He may claim to be "wide open", but I assume it's just to maximize the impact when he commits at Oregon's camp in a couple weeks. And once you've decided to leave your former program high and dry, whatever comments you make on the way out the door are small beer.
Kelly probably doesn't. As other have speculated, I wouldn't be surprised if he told Blake to kick rocks.
It might have looked better to the uninformed, but for those who are paying attention, it's pretty clearly just a timing issue.
That is what I don't get either. Nothing about our program has changed very much since he decided to commit here and spoke glowing words for the first half of this year.
Is he ticked at going away from grass to fieldturf? Didn't like the stadium renovations that are planned?
I get decommitting for his age due to other recruiting measures, but to do it and completely close the door with nothing major occurring puzzles me. maybe he is failing his foreign laguage class and doesn't want to re-take it? It's always that requirement that kills us right?
Oh well...Spin the wheel....
Even if he is simply going to commit to Oregon, which I believe is the case. For him to say that he is opening his recruitment to anywhere EXCEPT ND...If that is true, this guy is now my most hated recruit ever. To go from 100% committed to black balling the Irish, you're just dead to me kid...
It's happened before, and most later in the process.
FYI... I heard Steve Wiltfong on Sportsbeat 960 tonight...basically made it sound like this kid always loved Oregon growing up...drew pics of himself in their uniform...took ND as a hell of a safety school ... when Oregon finally offered it was basically just a matter of time as long as he had a good visit and heard the right things...so basically his zooming up the charts hurt us in the end...and as has been alluded to, sounds like there is no one who doesn't believe he won't commit to the ducks
It's part of recruiting guys... buckle up, because this almost certainly won't be the last flip away from us this cycle...
and we are sure to flip some guys in return.
If it really upsets you, I'd suggest trying to ignore recruiting.

Ryan Perrilloux a few years ago decommited on NSD from Texas to go to LSU. He told reporters 5 days before NSD that he was 100% committed to Texas then flipped. He committed to Texas in July and left them hanging all the way till NSD. It could be worse. 8+ months until NSD, more than enough time to find our guy.

Going on ten years ago...
I haven't said a whole lot on this topic but I am glad to see this happen now instead of Jan 24, 2015. Gives our coaches time to bring in another quality prospect. I know the coaches will handle this with respect even though being PISSED off. One thing that I don't think is disrespectful but some could see it as spiteful but I would like to see his offer pulled. That way in case he gets hurt (which I hope doesn't happen to him) and the ducks decide at last min they don't wan to take a chance his doors at ND are closed.
Anyone with Rivals?
