God, we would have destroyed them and that big goofy-ass quarterback of theirs.

Know I'm in the minority, but after seeing how poorly ND prepared for the big game, IMHO they would have been blasted by KSU or OSU too. We'll never know.....

Pitt last year really burns me. It was the only loss that surprised me. Also potentially cost us a 10 win season.

I think Bama would have beaten pretty much anyone by 30 in that game. But I might just be wearing Kelly green glasses.

I don't know about KSU but we would have beat the hell out of OSU. I watched every game they played that year and they were no where close to our level. Our defense would have contained them and their defense couldn't stop anyone.

USF 2011 was bad... but Kelly's loss of control in that game was telling as to just how far he thought this program can go. It was supposed the be the start of the "return to contention"... and then there's a fumble returned for score, TJ taking a pass to the face, etc. When BK's lost control, it was clear that he had very high hopes for the season.

But then the next week happened. I was born in '90, so the 2011 loss to UM was the worst pain I've known as an ND fan emotionally. You have a let-down in week one, and then it looks like you might blow out a hated enemy... only to lose in heartbreaking fashion. I was at a friend's going nuts the whole game. When Denard completed that pass on Gray with almost no time left, I laid face down on the floor for several minutes, then walked out the door without saying bye to my friends or their family. I ripped off my jersey and (to my own, great shame) thought about throwing it in my firepit after getting myself good and drunk.

I refrained and then decided to root for a win against MSU the next week.

It was the lowest point of my fanhood when I gave thought to a jersey burning. I'm still ashamed that I gave it a thought.

Definitely the USF game in 2011. It set the tone for the whole season, and it wasn't a good one.

My window was open and so were the blinds... ny neighbors actually took out lawn chairs to watch me through the window... I was even aware they were doing it... didn't stop me from going total ape shit.

I feel ya brother. That was the single lowest point as a Notre Dame fan for me. I was screaming and I took everything that was Notre Dame (which was a shit ton) out of my room after they lost. After cooling down, I had to rethink what I did and since then I haven't been nearly as bad.

Definitely a night I wish I could forget

I would not wish how I felt after that loss on my worst enemy.

i have to say FSU Bowl Game. We were finally playing well. Defense was looking great and we gave the game away.

Said the story before here, but that game was the ONLY time I've ever been in a fist fight over a game.

Agreed OSU had nothing on offense. Nix would have broken Miller in two.

I'm going to go on a limb here and say Alabama it would have been awesome to have another NC.

Or losing Golson last year it would have really moved the program forward and possibly another BCS year

To join in on the 2011 scUM breakdowns. Broken glass, broken door, and a broken hand made me re-evaluate some things haha.

The '11 Michigan loss was pretty bad, and I was floored by it (literally, I was on the floor). But the USF still stays with me, for reasons people have mentioned. The easy season opener turned into a total Keystone Kops show. Just bad all around. Michigan was a gut punch but USF was like being poked in the ribs with a ruler for 3 hours.
