FSU Bowl Game: a win there heals all the regular season loss wounds.
God, we would have destroyed them and that big goofy-ass quarterback of theirs.
Know I'm in the minority, but after seeing how poorly ND prepared for the big game, IMHO they would have been blasted by KSU or OSU too. We'll never know.....

USF 2011 was bad... but Kelly's loss of control in that game was telling as to just how far he thought this program can go. It was supposed the be the start of the "return to contention"... and then there's a fumble returned for score, TJ taking a pass to the face, etc. When BK's lost control, it was clear that he had very high hopes for the season.
But then the next week happened. I was born in '90, so the 2011 loss to UM was the worst pain I've known as an ND fan emotionally. You have a let-down in week one, and then it looks like you might blow out a hated enemy... only to lose in heartbreaking fashion. I was at a friend's going nuts the whole game. When Denard completed that pass on Gray with almost no time left, I laid face down on the floor for several minutes, then walked out the door without saying bye to my friends or their family. I ripped off my jersey and (to my own, great shame) thought about throwing it in my firepit after getting myself good and drunk.
I refrained and then decided to root for a win against MSU the next week.
It was the lowest point of my fanhood when I gave thought to a jersey burning. I'm still ashamed that I gave it a thought.

2011 UM was one of the lowest points I've ever had also, hell forget ND fandom, one of my lowest points PERIOD... I look back at the way I acted... not proud... that game ruined me.
+1
I threw things that night.
My window was open and so were the blinds... ny neighbors actually took out lawn chairs to watch me through the window... I was even aware they were doing it... didn't stop me from going total ape shit.

I don't know about KSU but we would have beat the hell out of OSU. I watched every game they played that year and they were no where close to our level. Our defense would have contained them and their defense couldn't stop anyone.
Blue Gold Game every single year.
The '11 Michigan loss was pretty bad, and I was floored by it (literally, I was on the floor). But the USF still stays with me, for reasons people have mentioned. The easy season opener turned into a total Keystone Kops show. Just bad all around. Michigan was a gut punch but USF was like being poked in the ribs with a ruler for 3 hours.
