Several of these made me smile. That last one made me crack up.

I thought Ned/Al was the funniest. "Always going on about climate change." LOL.

I saw this on NFL.com the other day and found it entertaining: All-Game of Thrones football team | NFL.com

Some questionable decisions here. I like the receiving corps, but the QBs and RBs leave a lot to be desired. The defense, coaching staff and front office are solid though.

On another note, I started reading the books a few weeks ago and have about 200 pages left in Book 3, so I'm almost caught up with the TV series, I think. I can't put them down. I think I'm going to re-watch the series when I finish book 5.

Tywin Lannister as HC, Sandor Clegane as LT, and Littlefinger as GM are about as perfect as it gets.

Not sure about Ghost as DT. I think you could use Tarly as the nose and switch to a 3-4. Add Osha (the wildling) to the mix as the wiley, under-sized fourth linebacker/star tweener to keep the young dragons in line.

I also like Arya at QB. Considering the constant power shifts in Westeros, if something happens to coach Tywin, she can adjust to many differing systems due to her newly-acquired versatility. I see Tywin running smash mouth, so she uses her intelligence and cunning to beat defenses in the play-action game. If someone wants to come in and run the spread, she can adjust to that as well, using her superior water-dancing background to be a supremely elusive threat running the ball.

Here's a theory from /r/asoiaf about how the Iron Islands started as a sort of leper colony for those with Greyscale.
Other than Stannis's daughter, I don't recall any mention of Greyscale in the Iron Islands. If I recall correctly, it drives madness and is extremely contagious.

All the things HBO had to "cut for time" and they insert a pointless love story between Grey Worm and Missandei. Why?

To keep women interested. They lose the Tyrion, Robb, and Jon love stories so they want to start others. Stupid but that's why.

His head is popped, but not the same way. I believe the Mountain smashes his head with a rock in the books. And as far as Tyrion, wouldn't you rather find out on the show than have it spoiled?

I thought he picked his head up and smashed it against the ground. The popping was probably more brutal though. Ellaria's scream was freaky too. Great scene, and a pretty good episode. They are about into The Winds of Winter territory with Sansa though.

I don't remember Sansa revealing her identity to anyone in the books...but I forget a lot...

And I feel like they are portraying her as some manipulative soon-to-be slut. Didn't get that vibe at all in books.

No she didn't reveal her identity to anyone, and it was a bad change. However she is definitely going to play Littlefinger and use him because she knows Catelyn was his one weakness. That is obvious.

I'm 95% sure in the book he caves in his skull with his armored hand. He squeezes it with his finger going into his eye socket.

To the stuff about Sansa... I don't think her identity is revealed to anyone at this juncture. I don't think this is a bad deviation though. I don't think her becoming "manipulative" is really a deviation at all, I think it's congruent with her natural evolution and just being shown overtly in the show because you can't have internal dialogue.

Jorah is one of my favorite characters so I was sad to see him go. Obviously he comes back but I bet we won't see him again until the latter part of next season.

I think the Arya and The Hound arc will have run its course by the end of this season and Tyrion and Jorah will become the new odd couple for comic relief.

IIRC, Clegane basically caves Oberyn's face in with a series of brutal punches.

Agreed. I thought the addition of feathers to her dress at the end was a nice touch.

I really wouldn't be surprised to see the Battle of Meereen happen next season even if TWOW isn't out yet.

I absolutely lost it when Arya just started laughing when the soldiers at the Bloody Gate told her that her aunt was dead. I laughed harder than any comedy in recent memory has made me laugh.

The transition from the shocked look on Clegane's face to Arya losing her shit was amazing. One of my favorite moments of the show so far.

Seriously. I read the first three books my freshman year of college when Storm of Swords came out. I waited until ADwD was released to read AFfC. His fans have been nothing but patient, but this is getting ridiculous. I swear, somehow it's karma from my college days that one of my favorite writers would have a worse writing work ethic than me.

At least Wheel of Time fans had a new book to read every year or two.

Okay, enough kvetching from me. Carry on.

Apparently he might need 8 books to finish the series. Which I think is great, cause at this rate it means we get to transfer the legacy and have our grand-kids finish the series for us.

I can't find the article I read earlier but I read that this episode is the most expensive episode yet. The Battle of Blackwater Bay episode cost $8 million haha

Don't know how accurate it was, but this episode definitely helped me visualize what was going on in the book more than any other episode probably. I remember being pretty confused when reading.
