Even with the long motion, he's probably a better thrower than Tebow right now.

Tebow didn't do himself any favours from the get-go. Personally, he was at the wrong position. He was a great college QB but I think as a pro, he would have been a good TE and/or H-Back. 6'3" 240, tough, fights for extra yards, hard to bring down... despite for catching the ball, I think he could have carved himself a decent career in the NFL.

Sorry, went a bit off topic.

As for Barnett, he looked great in that video, and he's got plenty of time to work on the mechanics of his throwing motion, which he is doing.

Two things from the film:

Barnett's throwing motion- while it can be fixed I hope, it reminds me of Shaq shooting free throws.

Someone should check out #15. I believe he may in fact be a robot.

What is there to be worried about?

For someone who (presumably) follows recruiting as intently as you do, I'm surprised that you have no idea why a ND fan might get a little squeamish whenever a prized recruit's thread gets bumped. Now, I'm not advocating for the "Chicken Littles" of this site, but come on, man. You know damn well we can't rest easy until this kid shows up on campus in January. He's too important to take his recruitment for granted.

No because there is nothing to worry about. Blake has never even hinted at looking around. He talks about his offers and that's it. There our kids who I thought would never stick with ND that did and there our kids I thought were solid and flipped. Oregon has moved on and seem to be targeting other kids. But I don't open a recruits thread and be like " OOOOO shit there might be some bad news". Or this bump scared me. Decommitts are gonna happen some kid is gonna commit to ND and not end up here just like we are gonna flip some kids. But why would I get worried about kids who change there minds all the time. 99% sure Barnett will be at spring practice next year. If not you can say I told you so, I understand what you were saying but it's nothing we can control. Drives me nuts when people get scared by a bump. Some people get to worried and wrapped up in recruiting on stuff we just can't control.

If a thread bump raises your blood pressure, you need to:
1) quit smoking (ask Bob D for advice)
2) exercise (consult Bob's "hey fatass" thread)
3) drink more (obvious health/mood benefits)

Blake's thread already has more posts and views than all but three members of the 2014 recruiting class (Luatua, Tranquill and Morgan), and we still have 8+ months until he's on campus. His thread is going to get bumped. Deal with it. That goes for the thread police too.

Now, lets get back to nitpicking his throwing motion. It's not where it should be for a 17-year old.

Exactly, some of the bumpin is posting highlights or positives of his recruitment. Always stay positive until you have a reason to be negative.

As of right now there is no reason to be worried.

Why was there reason to be worried in the first place?

Because he's an elite recruit at by far the most important position and is the cornerstone of what could be an excellent.

This is going to be a thread that's constantly bumped, and I'm not personally worried but I completely understand why people's heart jumps a little.

When you can't recruit like bama, you need a game changing quarterback to even have a chance at a NC, so we need him.

Literally no idea why or how that purple face showed up into post. Kind of creepy.

Bama gets the best player because they have the best coach and they win. Unreal facilities and well they win. So that makes them shady recruiters? They pick who they want

I think he just meant that when you can't annually count on the #1 class that a game changer at QB becomes more important. Even if Bama doesn't have a dynamic and dominant QB they are going to be fine because they go three deep with 4:s: and 5:s: guys. I didn't read anything that made it seem like The Koon was implying anything like what you took from it

The content in the thread will not change in the 1 second it takes you to recognize his thread is bumped and for you to click the last arrow... The "Anxiety" it causes some people is stupid

Maybe if he did and if he did I agree with what you two just said.

Wasn't sure if this was posted yet, but some good highlights from his IMG 7v7 camp.

How Fast Is ND QB Commit Blake Barnett

Notre Dame quarterback commit Blake Barnett will be properly listed as a dual-threat passer when the 247Sports 2015 rankings update in the near future. How fast and athletic is Barnett? One representative from a prominent BCS program tells 247Sports he has wide receiver speed.
Out of Corona (Calif.) Santiago, the 6-foot-3 1/2, 195-pound Barnett is rated as the nation's No. 78 player overall according to the 247Sports Composite Ratings. As a junior he passed for 2,322 yards and 22 touchdowns while rushing for another 695 yards and 13 scores.
Was told today Barnett is closer to 6-5 now with 4.7 speed.

He's been doing speed training with former NFL running back Leonard Russell.

Barnett will visit ND for a week next month.

He's got a MUCH bigger frame and is a bit taller than Rosen who is always listed at 6'4". dunno where the 6'3.5" came from... I'd guess that Barnett is at least a full 6'4" if Rosen's measurements are even close to accurate.

I watched Josh Rosen's tape for the first time just now. Is there something that Josh Rosen does better than Blake? I usually don't really put much stock in recruiting rankings, but I think it's a crime that Blake isn't a 5:s: on 247.

Rosen has a better release than Blake, but Blake definitely has Rosen beat at speed. Fixing a throwing motion is easy, you can't teach speed.
