This kid has the highest upside in the QB class this year, IMO. He has the boom or bust factor written all over him. Michael Vick or turned WR.

you see the class size he pulled in last signing day? he's no different than the rest

I'm biased because I like UC and so I liked Butch Jones, but that roster was pretty depleted from what I've read. There were a few decent breakdowns of their big class, and it seemed like it was a rare huge class that actually wasn't going to rely on "transfers" or "medical issues" or "violations of team rules" to make the numbers work.

Signing Day 2014: The story behind Tennessee's recruiting class - College Football - Andy Staples - SI.com

Asked by reporters on Wednesday how he planned to squeeze in everyone, Jones hinted that players might delay enrollment. This is known as grayshirting in the recruiting world. A player would delay his enrollment until January and count against the 2015 class. Tennessee may also attempt to "blueshirt" some players. To do that, a school can't officially recruit a player, meaning he can't take an official visit and coaches can't make in-home visits. The school also can't sign the player to an NLI, so any other school may still recruit him and offer a scholarship. He would essentially have to walk on and then earn a scholarship, but such a player would probably walk on with the understanding that a scholarship was forthcoming. If Tennessee is attempting to blueshirt anyone for the class of '14, coaches aren't revealing names. If they did, other schools would swoop in quickly with scholarship offers.

I really want to know how he calculated this.

Tennessee, OSU, and Auburn are the top group. Many believe Tennessee leads. Please don't go to Columbus

One of, if not my favorite QB prospects for this class. His upside is insane.

i could see urban selling him on being the next braxton miller only to get him on campus and then turn him into the next percy harvin and in the end he's the next bradley roby or christian bryant

this kid is an elite athlete, I am not going to deny that, but I still dont think he will be a good passer at the college level. He will be a playmaker wherever he ends up though.

While I agree there is a huge risk here. I would say Braxton Miller isn't a very good passer either and he's balling out.

Van Gorder and American Heritage

Van Gorder and American Heritage

Brian Van Gorder and American Heritage-Plantation have history. As head coach, he took them to a state championship in 1987. South Florida high school football is at the very foundation of Van Gorder's coaching career.

Fifteen most explosive players in 2015 class

The athlete/quarterback debate rages on with U.S. Army All-American Torrance Gibson, but there is no denying that regardless where the five-star ends up on the field, the 6-foot-5, 200-pound prospect will bring oodles of big-play ability. Gibson chose to compete in only one meet for this spring, running a FAT 21.78 in the 200, which would have been good enough for fourth in the state meet. Gibson also ran a 4.55 40-yard dash and 4.38 shuttle at the Miami NFTC. Threw for 1,864 yards and 19 touchdowns while running for 1,032 yards and 10 touchdowns, and just makes it look easy on film. Few his size can move as well as Gibson does.

So last week Dormandy commits to Tenesseee over Alabama who wanted him badly and now this week Gibson visits for 5 days and names Tennessee his leader

Am I missing something regarding Tennessee and their QB coach or something? What is making them so attractive?

Is he locked into playing QB? There was a big debate last week as to whether or not he should switch positions in order to have his best shot at the NFL. If he's open to moving around, that might explain it.

Or Dormandy could be a project on the RS path, and they're saying Gibson could start day 1. A lot of teams take multiple QBs in a class. USC did it with Wittek and Kessler.

UTjr can offer playing time, playing in the SEC, amazing facilities and a pretty active recruiting staff. Why anyone would want to play QB for UTjr over Auburn though is beyond me.

It's still a debate and he's open to not playing QB but I believe at the moment that's what he wants to be

Butch Jones is also a sick recruiter and pulled a top 10 class his first year at Tennessee.

Maybe they have aspirations to throw the ball more than 4 times a game.
