'14 TX LB Kolin Hill (Texas Tech Transfer)

IF you know nothing about his rankings...saw that he plays in Texas 4A and watch his highlights....what to you think? for me he looks like the real deal high 4*

I remember when he committed Wooly and I stated we were just throwing shit at the wall. After seeing his senior year highlights I understand why we offered him.

Yeah. I am not as high on all of the lower ranked guys as everybody else, but I think I was wrong on Hill. The more I see, the more I like. One could even say.... Daddy likes...

Prime example of the staff doing its job. Guys like NDFister on blueandgold, and other calling out the staff for not offering kids in season, take notes. lol. You might have your eye on a kid from his jr film, but not worth the offer, but worth keeping track of. Then you get that Senior tape and they put it all together aka Kolin Hill, Jhonny Williams, and to a point Isaiah McKenzie. Kids develop at different paces mentally, physically, and athletically. No reason to rush or pass on a kid until that film evaluation is over.

Kolins just a prime example of one of those kids that needs a lot of work on his technique and development, but has the things you cant teach....Heart, Desire.

Great players come out of small schools...Tim Brown played for a crappy Dallas h.s. in the city center that had deteriorated from past glory.
4A high school football in Texas is major football folks.

I guess it's a fair point, but you could always push signing day to a early summer date to give more time for that. Also, schools would be allowed to send informative stuff. Besides, with the amount of BS that some of these coaches are feeding these kids, is it such a bad thing? With internet, you can find out anything you want about a school. 8-10 months is plenty enough time to build a relationship. Just some ideas here.

I'm still surprised that we were able to hold onto Hill. When Texas offered, I thought we were done. Staff did a great job with this recruitment.

Yeah two weeks ago was feeling pretty sick about all the chatter, great job by the coaches to seal this up! He should be a good one for us.
