'14 CA WR/DB Michiah Quick (OU Signee)

Adam Gorney on Rivals acknowledged that he heard Quick was telling people at USC he was going to Oklahoma, but thinks that it could be a smokescreen as much as anything else. He basically admits no one knows what Quick is going to do or where he is really leaning, but thinks that the final three are Oklahoma, Notre Dame and UCLA.

Gorney also stated Quick was enamored with ND even before he ever visited (talking about them at 7 on 7 events), and he thinks turning them down would be hard for him.

I think Gorney ultimately is just reinforcing that this is a battle that will go down to NSD, and that NO ONE knows what he is going to do yet.

Not really anything new. Denbrock, Alford, and Booker are visiting today with the goal of showing him how he fits into the offense. Quick has a really close relationship with Denbrock and Denbrock to OC could be big in his recruitment.

I contemplated posting this same thing but in much longer format. I completely agree. If you want to enjoy a college visit (and you're with current commits), you don't tell them you're leaning towards their bitter rivals. Either play it cool and have no comment, or just flat out lie to them to take the pressure off.

Not surprising to me. The Sooners ended their season on a very high note and they have been our strongest competition for Quick. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

From his coach's perspective. OU in home was Monday and UCLA will visit him. Will probably cancel UCLA visit for this weekend (if not it may be a 3 horse race). UCLA and ND in homes left. Family and friends pushing for all schools (sounds like his mom is closest in distance to OU) Believes he has an idea of where he will go but will sit with coach this weekend to go over it all. Irish pushing hard and have made up ground fast.

I remember Davonte Neal is one of my top 3 favorite recruits ever. Man that kid could take it to the house from anywhere on the field. I still think he would have been a better DB for us. Because he couldn't catch anything and that's the reason he didn't play.
