For my fellow Giants out here, I like the OC hire. The staff changes are good too despite Mike Pope being one of the best.

Dont like who we chose to let go in the staff (Pope, Ingram) when Sean Ryan and Gilbride Jr have proven and done much less at their positions. I do like McAdoo hiring though and think he will be a major help for Eli and the receivers.

There is no way Caldwell will be able to keep that locker room together in Detroit. It will be a complete mess.

Can't wait to see the first on field interaction between Suh and Caldwell. Should be very high on the unintentional comedy scale.

seemingly Stafford is not really a great leader, that could be an issue that needs resolving

Maybe that's why they brought in Caldwell. He was pretty much a clone of Dungy when it came to running the team, especially behind the scenes.

Yeah, it's been reported several times that he doesn't have the work ethic and doesn't want to be a team leader. What I can't figure out is why the Lions had him sitting in on the interview process?

I thought I read it was more of to see how Stafford reacts to the coach breaking down film with him. If Stafford is truly as lazy as they say, then it would show and the coach gets to see firsthand before he steps into the situation. Just one of a number of reasons why he could be in there.

Stafford is way overrated as a QB, without Megatron he was mediocre at best. He's set to earn $19.3 mil this upcoming season, no way he is worth close to that.

While I agree, he still has a lot of untapped talent. Now if Caldwell can get him to stop lookin like such a tool...

He threw for over 5000 yards that one year, 2000 to Megatron. So 3000 went somewhere else. Don't let the fact that there is no other receiving threats on the Lions fool you. Of course he was mediocre, look at the crap he has to play with.

The Lions need to draft corners and, I hate to say it with their draft history, more WRs.

That was 1 year in 5 playing years with his 6th this upcoming season. He has regressed since the 2011 season if you look at the stats. He does have a lot of promise, if Caldwell can teach him and he is willing to listen then it would be all good. I'm a Lions fan and hope they do good but I dont know who they can add outside the draft with the salary cap situation that management screwed up on.

Being a life long Lion's fan (37 yrs), does it matter who the head coach is? It's were coaches go to end their careers.

Easy now. I actually bought Detroit this past summer, I threw a quarter on the side walk. I realize I have a huge amount of debt, I claimed bankruptcy and am all good now. I will turn things around.

Shit I know how that is. I took a wrong turn on my daily commute to the law library, ended up driving next to Sanford stadium. All of the sudden a guy in a red polo and khakis comes SPRINTING out of nowhere, chases down my car and makes me roll down my window. I don't get less than a crack of space between the door and the window and this asshole shoves a piece of paper right into the slot and into my car. Naturally I was pissed, and tried to give it back, but he insisted it was mine and kept handing me another one as fast as I could return them. Anyway, long story short I've got a Kinesiology degree from Georgia now.

I get that, but throwing for 5000 yards is an amazing accomplishment regardless. The best part about Stafford is he is still young and trainable.

Where did you see that posting? My buddy who was a DB on my college team (I played receiver) was at Valdosta and knows the coaching staff at GMCCC. I am legitimately interested in the job.

Sorry for the delay.

I follow FootballScoop Staff on Twitter and they seem to have some legit connections around the coaching world. They have a website they update with coaching maneuvers for big time and little time football. They mentioned some openings and I looked it up, saw a few and know that some of you guys are legit trying to become coaches, so, here ya go.

Put in for it man. Work those connections. Don't undersell yourself. You should give FootballScoop Staff a look. They were at doe coaches convention the other day and got some good advice for those seeking a coaching career. A lot of good information.

I encourage it.
