If he is tall enough, IMO. I think that's why they haven't offered yet before the OV... they want to see his stature in person.

On the other hand, their are a lot of excellent WRs out there who are just about 6'0". Why does the kid covering him have to be 6' as well?

If you could trust a kid to cover one good WR 1 on 1, that would certainly give you more flexibility elsewhere.

Have you seen Tim Jennings from the Bears? Dude shuts down big receivers quite frequently he is no taller than 5'10. All I'm saying is if you're good, you're good!

Totally agree. I think size is irrelevant if you can play big in coverage and physical against the run.

Let's all play the "he reminds me of game"...I'll start - Chiefs CB Brandon Flowers...Not a burner, not very big, solid in coverage.

Reminds of Cam McDaniel the couple months he was also a CB

Size-Strength-Speed
Possesses adequate size on a muscular frame with good functional strength in coverage. Shows very good speed on paper but it does not always translate to premium play speed on film.
Instincts/Recognition
Needs to work on reading through ball to man in zone schemes and get a better feel for route development. Instinctive in one-on-one coverage when the ball is in the air but has just adequate awareness skills overall at the position.
Coverage Skills
Solid zone skills and he can hold up in man-to-man. Better coming forward breaking on the ball underneath than flipping his hips in straight man. Shows some rigidness in transition and wasted movement at times. Would like to see smoother overall transitional skills but he can be difficult to create separation on in tight man coverage with his length, and he drives hard on the ball in zone schemes limiting RAC. Shows good ball skills but does not always go up and high-point the football effectively.
Run Support
Assertive and will come up quickly to set the edge but he tends to lunge more than he does make solid, wrap-up tackles. Still brings good underneath range to position on run support and with added size should be able to play solid and aggressive Cover 2 defense at the college level.
Bottom Line
Alexander certainly has talent to develop at the corner position and some of his flaws -- like reads and footwork -- should improve with college coaching. Would like to see more big play ability on film but he still projects as a solid BCS level corner.

Speaking of reevaluating corners based on our new system, I would really like to see Shaun Crawford get a second look.

As far as Terrence goes, I would really like to see him get an offer.

He has that confident demeanor a corner needs when he is left on an island half of the game.

Also getting a foot in the door at John Curtis can't hurt.

ND staff called him for the first time on 12/13. He was down to Ole Miss and Stanford but from the moment we made contact we were in the final three.

Visiting Stanford this weekend, ND 1/17, Ole Miss 1/24. No pecking order ... all three are equal right now.

HS coach says he's the best corner in LA, can give Malachi Dupre all he can handle, and would be going anywhere he wanted if he were two inches taller.

Think we're going to have a tough time making a big impression sandwiched between Stanford and Ole Miss with how cold it's going to be at ND. It will take one hell of a recruiting job from the coaches, and I really hope we can keep him away from Stanford.

Would be elated to get this young man when it's said and done. I know we're late to the party, but as we all know anything can happen in recruiting. Would love to add another pure CB to our class. Hope he has an awesome visit.

Not to mention that when he's at Stanford, he won't realize that the stadium looks and sounds the exact same way on game day as when he is visiting. Crickets. On the plus side, if any staff can get this done, it's Kelly and Co.

Per TV, he has not yet heard if he has been accepted to Stanford yet. I assume he will find out on his trip there, but who knows.

One of the only HS coaches in the country who you can actually trust when he says that.

We're not late to the party.

We are though. Stanford and Ole Miss all got previous visits and were in on him over the summer. Even though they shut down recruiting during the season, it really just makes it that much more important that you were on somebody during the summer after their junior year.

High of 40 in South Bend on Saturday. That is about as good as you are going to get this time of year for him to visit.

More important than the temperature is that all of the students will be back on campus by the 18th...though that could be bad if they are "lame"

I like hearing that he is the best corner in the state, but isn't he 5-11? That is pretty standard for a corner, right?
