I feel the same way. Its pretty cringeworthy.
Maybe I'm an old fuddy duddy and maybe I'm 5,000 miles away but it does semm like overkill. It just seems naff!

Am I the only one that thinks the #PotofGold thing is ridiculous?
I think we're better than that.
kid's seem to love it, so if that's the case and understanding the work put forth for the staff to send it out....i'm down with it.

You have to find ways to differentiate yourself and catch a kids attention, I agree it seems just a tad absurd but the reaction of all the kids seems to show they are enjoying it and its been powerful. Let's see if we can reel in any of the remaining big fish.
Sending 477 pieces of random mail does seem a little ridiculous.
But I'm all for it now that it has a meaning and a message- I think it's purpose is to show them how much better we really are. Not only does it show a recruit that we're very much interested, it communicates the tradition here in a rather uniquely powerful way. Saying the words 477 drafts picks is impressive for a second, but having photos and bios of each man impresses on you in a way that words just can't just how good ND has been for just how long a stretch of time.
Outside of sending them DVD's of Rudy, I can't think of a better way to explain what our "tradition" means
There's nothing random about it at all. It's thought out and with a purpose.

Not 100% committed and is listening to other schools

Per?
Not 100% committed and is listening to other schools
I wish in the recruiting world, they'd use a different word than "committed". High schoolers don't seem to know the meaning of the word.
I can only imagine walking up to my wife and saying, "I'm only 75% committed to you, and I'm going to continue dating other ladies."![]()
Holy shit you guys should read the article... here's a snippet: “I don’t think I’m 100 percent yet, but I gave my word to Coach Denbrock, so I’m still committed to (Notre Dame),” he discussed. “I’m just going to keep in touch with Alabama and some of the local schools.”

The article is mind boggling. What an absolute joke. We should cut bait and go all in on Schultz. Even if he comes here, he has all the red flags of the typical flaky California kid who busts/transfers.
2/10, do not want.
I think there's a good chance that he's freaked out about the idea that we bring in Schultz.
