Considering he'll most likely be on the interior that is a bold call. Or do you consider productive as playing time?

Got it. I too think Dickerson will end up being a very good player I just may choose a different term but I get what your saying.
It took a while, but Dickerson has been able to find to see some positives in the situation.
“Things are going to hit you when you’re not expecting it and how are you going to face adversity,” he said. “In the beginning, I thought my life was over when it really wasn’t, meaning that my football life was over, but it wasn’t. It’s just a small, little injury. I’ve become a better man out of this process.
“Sometimes you have to start from the bottom when you think you’re at the top and work your way back up. It’s been life-changing. I’m actually glad this thing happened to me because you think nothing can ever happen to you, but when it does, it hits you and you have to face reality. I’m glad it happened because I’m going to be a stronger player than before and a lot more safe when I’m doing my lifts and conditioning and just work on strengthening my core and being a complete rock muscle-wise so I don’t get hurt again.”
The injury didn’t require surgery and shouldn’t be anything that will linger at all down the road.
“The doctor said I should be completely fine,” Dickerson said. “I shouldn’t have any flare-ups at all. What’s done is done and nothing is going to change. He said the chances of me reinjuring my back are very, very, very low.”
If he didn't require surgery and the Doc's telling him there shouldn't be any flare-ups or problems down the road, it sounds like chances are pretty good that this injury won't be an issue going forward. Which is huge first and foremost for Matt but also for our defense the next few years.
Somebody REALLY needs to put Mora and UCLA in their rightful place.....2nd rate program that they really are!!!!!
They need a dlineman as Vanderdoes is a fullback.
We need a full back
We will never have a traditional fullback while BK is coach.

Once in awhile I'd like to see ANY back in the backfield on 3rd and 2-3.
I feel very, very different about an empty backfield on 3rd and short with Everett at QB vs. Tommy at QB.
They must have really really really loved his junior film

Notre Dame believes he is solid. Would still like to see him take his official.
