Everything I've heard points to ND. Just think he's making sure before he makes final decision.

To be honest, i do not worry at all even if he commits to Bama. Sure he is a good player but the TE position at ND got plenty of talent with young ballers. Smythe, Heuerman and Weishar are very exciting players!

“@Evan_Flood: Hearing four-star tight end Tyler Luatua will no longer take an official visit to #Wisconsin."

Alabama has that OJ Howard kid who is an absolute beast of a TE. Anyone seen him play? Incredible size and speed.

Apparently, he was the only kid that could ever match up against Jaylon Smith in 1v1s.

Is he related to that Malik Zaire kid?

Do you guys (who said so) really think that how the season goes has nothing to do with how top quality recruits decide? Do you mean that we would get these high 4*s (or not) regardless of whether we go 11-1 or 7-5? You may be right, but I'd like to understand why you thing that. There is not much of a way for us to prove it either way, short of the kid himself (or someone close to him) saying so, but I want to understand your reasoning.

ND was in a good position before the Alabama game. Look what happened there.

If you're referring to the outcome of the game it means nothing. Michiah Quick was there and said his visit was "okay." Made little impression on him.

I don't know, I think it can matter. If you really lose bad or win by domination. Look at Bama, they do nothing but win and they again have a top 5 class.

Lets see how the fallen SEC teams do this year, FL, GA and SC. Their classes right now are off from the recent past when they were winning. A&M and Auburn look to be putting together a really good set of classes for 2014. Auburn is winning and they are making it count with recruiting. They do have a new coach and that usually helps. A&M is just exciting (and winning) and they have a top 5 class right now.

I think you can always say that winning never hurts, but losing can.

There is losing and there is LOSING, the latter of which seems to coincide with immediate coaching changes or coaching changes in the near future. Going 8-4 one year won't kill a class, especially when there is a history of winning. Going 5-7 (cough, Florida, cough) will attract the sharks that prey on doubt.

Georgia is doing just fine in recruiting and will have another great class. South Carolina never has great classes, more like very good classes. Small state with not enough prospects compared to other southern states. Florida has issues.

Georgia has the #3 rated class per Rivals and the highest average star rating of all teams. I'd say they're doing fine.

Per BGI, has officially cancelled his official visit to Wisconsin. Will decide between Alabama and Notre Dame. They expect him to be part of ND's class come Signing Day.

I am not saying that a season that doesn't meet expectations can never have an effect on recruiting, I just do not believe this season is having an effect on this recruit. There is a delay on an announcement when compared to our expectations and all of us are anxious for communication from TL, I believe it will come shortly.

IF something were to happen and he changes his mind, I do not believe the way our season has unfolded would be the reason. If I was in a position like WR or TE and was pretty set on coming to ND before the season started, then you see the way this offense is run and has performed with TR running the offense, and then I think about having EG back in this offense next year, I am excited about that opportunity.

I didn't mean for it to sound like I never believe that a season, that doesn't match expectations, won't have a neg affect on recruiting.

Okay, I see. That makes sense. I probably over-worry about this; I hate to lose a good class because of dumb-*** losses to Pitt.

I'm way late to the party.

But although he lists Bama/ND as the finalists, I, for one, am happy that he's not considering USC. With all of the recent USC hype I was afraid Mama/Smith were working on him to go there.

I don't get why he's waiting so long but those in the know seem not to be worried, so I'm not yet either.

IDK where Tyler wants to play (last I knew he didn't care?), but if he insists on playing TE, I'll be happy if he signs with us, but we're fine at TE without him. We signed 2 TEs last year and already have one on board this year.

If he wants to play LB, I really want him to be Irish.

He and his family come across as level headed. Having a brother at Bama the family has been through it already and probably just wants to let things run their course.

Really not that worried about Tyler. As long as he is in this class at NSD he can take all the time he wants making such an impactful and important life decision.

Doesn't hurt my sense of ease that his Crystal Ball is seriously trending to ND, and that all of the Bama beat writers, National analysts and West Coast guys are all picking ND.
