Difference between game film and highlight reels. Anybody can look good on a 3 minute clip

They have to wait to go to the school to get the game film? There were coaches posting on that board basically saying it was a horseshit excuse because they send full game film to coaches like the day after the game.

Wiltfong just said the competition for PSU is Florida.

Sounds to me like we are still in this.

There are a few recruits a year where the conventional wisdom is just not true. Hopefully this is one of them.

We are not in anything until he visits ND IMO. Always follow the visits.

I agree, but it sounded before like there was no chance we were going to get a visit. At this point, I am a little more optimistic.

PSU is definitely a threat here, but, as I've been saying, Holley will be Irish.

Sometimes that kind of information gets overwhelmed by all the other voices that insist they know things. In this case, everyone was insisting it was OSU and PSU whenever I read about him. I wasn't really paying close attention to him recently because people were saying we were out of it.

It was happening with Elam recently as well. He was retweeting a bunch of Alabama stuff, an Alabama interview made him sound like we were in third, and people starting talking as if we were fading. Then I read something from him that said we are now tied for first.

It's hard to overcome the people who either post their opinions as facts or post "I'm hearing" in reference to the opinions of other posters.

I kinda felt we were still in it, but not necessarily at the top. If it was down to PSU or OSU I would rather see him go to OSU, but if we still have an outside chance then that's awesome. If would be great if we could get Holley back on campus again. If either Elam or Holley come on board we should be fine at NT eventually.

TV is telling a similar story. If today were signing day he would sign at PSU. Florida is in the mix. We need to get him back on campus but that isn't on the radar right now

listening to the bill king show....they talked about osu and him...said he really has had somewhat of a disappointing season...not sure what side they believe but he stated he wouldn't be surprised to see ND in it at the end

OV to ND in the works. In contact with Diaco and Jay Hayes, looking at awards banquet weekend, 12/13. Not set in stone, but things are looking good. PSU the apparent front-runner but the recruitment is far from over, as Holley's whole family is in ND's corner.

Looks like he might pop back on the board if he can make it for an OV for the football banquet. Staff not giving up... and neither is Jay Hayes. The only competition in the driver's seat is Florida (sucks) and Penn State (not as awesome as that Michigan win felt at the time to everyone there)... with Penn State the presumed leader. Ohio State, as we all know, was eliminated for (insert hypothetical reason)... who knows if that elimination "sticks" though.

TJ at II has been saying this for awhile now. Dating back to the start of the season he was adamant that we were doing exactly what the family requested of us in terms of contact, pressure, etc. Looks like he may be right after all.

TJ had a few things to say about Holleys recruitment. Elston has been his primary recruiter which is something that was important to him (getting to know his position coach). BK, Diaco, and Alford are assisting as well. Since his June visit we've been in contact and handled the recruitment precisely how they requested during that visit. His HC coach has monitored that and approved accordingly.. They asked not to bombard them with calls which we obviously
haven't. Mom, uncle, and HC are his support group.
- sounds like we are doing much much better here than the public make it out to seem. In fact TJ even mentions that there are some recruiters that aren't following their requests and he infers that could be a negative.

He's working from the 247 report that stated that. I've seen similar sentiments on ISD, etc.

Yep, exactly. Tom Loy of BGI posted, "we're told" that the whole family is on ND's side. So not sure exactly who spoke to whom, but the report was unequivocal about the family's preference.

The BGI report did say that Penn State has the edge ... the family thing is just a factor working in ND's favor, according to BGI.

Maybe we threw the Pitt game to make sure we end up at the Pinstripe Bowl so Holley won't have to travel far to see us play.


It's all part of a master plan to land a NT.
