Christ... he said that he was a VT fan many times. Do you realize how many kids we have on our team that rooted for USC their entire lives?

If his scores are good, he'll be here. If they aren't, then he wont. Literally nothing has changed in his recruitment.

VT may be his favorite team growing up but you act as if ND hasn't recruited him the last 8 months. ND has built a strong relationship with him, something VT has yet to do so for that reason alone i still like our chances

I think you and I have differing opinions of what a meltdown is. You say nothing has changed, yet something HAS changed. The staff is now actively recruiting multiple other kids that fit the same profile as McKenzie. When you add that to his recent comments, I don't think it's unreasonable to make the assumption that all is not well. However, to classify this thread as a meltdown? No.

The thread was bumped because of the post about VT, not that we are evaluating a kid with similar measurables. Which, btw, we haven't even offered yet. It's something that wouldn't have probably been mentioned if it weren't for McKenzie's thread being bumped.

Hasn't the connection already been made in another thread though? It's all connected IMO. I just don't see how you can qualify this as a meltdown lol. Maybe a touch of paranoia (deservedly so given the last 10 months worth of news), but definitely not 'meltdown' worthy.

Not that I know of. McKenzie has always been a fan of VT and that post was just recent news. Since then, the notion that VT is evaluating him (which was already known, he committed to us after they reached out to him) and that we are evaluating a kid of his size (neither offered, btw) have been featured conversation.

I'm not saying "meltdown" in the Vanderdoes-Style, but meltdown in the sense that everyone is freaking out and making wild guesses at what's going on. The reality is that this situation is exactly the same as it's ever been.

Fair enough. I agree that nothing has changed. Info think the recent interest in similar profile players is relevant, but I also never really felt comfortable with IM's commitment - as I'm sure is not an unpopular POV here..

Yep, have to agree with that much.

People just get really annoyed to see others jumping to conclusions. It's always dangerous on a board like this because it can lead to runaway rumors.

Not saying any runaway rumors were starting in this thread; just speaking generally.

We fought because you used to post your ND recruiting info like a total tool. Now you do it like a true Vet.

I'm never going to be on everyone's friend list, and that's OK. I don't hold grudges or keep a hit list of posters, and I call it like I see it. I can't make everyone happy. Only those smart enough to agree with me ;).

More reason to not offer them **** until they do.

Kelly needs to only accept/give out offers to kids that can make the grade.


I'm not an expert on how this works..but that would be the logcial thing to do. Saves face and wasting time on recruits that can't get in.
