Yesterday in the film it looked like Troy blocked well. Today it looked like he had one of the more acrobatic diving catches I have seen out of a Tight End.

One catch.

66 yards.

Touchdown!

He never carried the ball but was responsible for a sizable portion of the rushing yardage.

I'm still surprised that we didn't just focus on throwing him slants through the middle of the field. Really any passes that put him on their tiny/slow linebackers. He was a mismatch for every player on their defense and we targeted him once.

On on that target, he took it to the house.

It felt like Kelly kept the O rather vanilla - I think he'll see some more targets next week.

But yeah I thought he'd get more targets for sure.

You have to figure it was by design... it's just baffling otherwise...

Definition of a matchup nightmare. He's like an OT running a seam route, and running it well. Hope he gets a ton of looks this year.

The Robinson target should be given to Niklas. Regardless, I think two targets for Niklas was by design as others have said. The TE will play a bigger receiving role in the offense as the playbook is opened up.

Troy played a great game all around. His blocking was tremendous from what I saw. I think we need him to play a big role in the redzone this week though and be Tommy's pacifier. This game always has me on the edge of my seat.

Still not sure that throw was to 88, but overall very happy of the distribution.

It been revised accordingly. After reading dudeisbest post on distribution in the Tommy Rees thread I came back over here to change Robinson to Niklas and saw both your posts. dudeisbest went over the game film in detail, I still have not rewatched the game. My distribution came strickly from the the Offical Game Stats Play by Play.

Any chance of a first round draft pick? 3 in a row would be untouchable on the recruiting trail.

Three?

Tyler Eifert: First Round 2013 | 21st Pick | 1st TE
Kyle Rudolph: Second Round 2011 | 43rd Pick | 1st TE
John Carlson: Second Round 2008 | 38th Pick | 2nd TE
Anthony Fasano: Second Round, 2006 | 53rd Pick | 4th TE
Jerome Collins: Fifth Round, 2005 | 144th Pick | 4th TE

Maybe first TE drafted? That would make it 3 in a row.

This dude, Gronk-mini needs 5+ targets a game. He is becoming dominant as a blocker and the matchup nightmare he has become needs to be taken advantage of more. If you can't see it as a GM and you miss out on Gronk 2.0, get your resume ready.

Troy's single reception so far has move him into 9th place for ND TE catches in a single season.

His next TD catch (that the defender doesn't pick off) makes him #1 for TE TD Catches in a season.
