I don't always make posts about recruiting journalists, but when I do, it's about Anna.

I opened the thread and realized how far I had to go back just to start with the "Today" posts. I got excited/nervous thinking something big came up.

Nope, just the usual IE brilliance.

Carry on, gentlemen.

Per the hot blonde,

His head coach said he's where he needs to be in the classroom, just need to get his test scores up to qualify. They are confident that he will and he is very close to getting there.

Interesting. I wonder if this is just a shot in the dark?

Serious question and sorry if it's already been asked:

What is the difference in Mac's role and the would-be role of Davonte Neal? When the dust settled, Neal said he didn't see a role for him in the offense. Are they or aren't they pretty much the same style of athletes? The reason I ask is that 1) I'm concerned that Mac will find a similar situation or 2) Was Neal just blowing smoke about that...that kid could've/should've been our Mamba.

There is more to the Neal situation, he would have had a place in the offense. But there is also a difference. While Neal could run the football, he was primarily a wide receiver. Mackenzie on the other hand is first and foremost a runningback. He places a lot in the slot, but that would not be his primary position.

So what you're saying is that the RB position is already extremely crowded, they're recruiting Bo and Starks still, AND they want Mac to play there too? That seems crazy to me. I get that Mac is a stud athlete and I'm hoping he ends up Irish. I'm just trying to keep my facts straight here.

I'm going with a 0% chance that McKenzie plays running back.

When he visited they worked him out at RB. Basically as an APB. One of the reasons he got his offer was because he showed the necessary traits to play coming out of the backfield, this according to TJ at II. I don't think he'll be 15+ carries a game but if he's at ND he'll definitely be lining up in the backfield a fair number of times and will more than likely practice with them some.

i would imagine IF he signs...he is day 1 punt returner, Kick return man with a few scripted plays to get him on some jet sweeps, or reverse

He is more of a gadget back though. This is a drastic example, but the way Oregon used Deathony Thomsas is Freshman year when both James and Barner were there. He would be coming out of the backfield catching passes. Getting hand offs from the slot, running option. He also will catch bubble screens in the flat. Listed as a runningback, but will not be in the backfield much
