Some have questioned his blocking skills and his hands. Don't know how accurate those are however.

Some have also questioned consistent effort. Who knows if that is true or not, but I have seen that thrown around.

I read somewhere that he mailed it in at one of the Elite camps this past summer. Still, everything about him says he has that dreaded word... potential.

Fair enough. I could see how having neither hands nor blocking skills might be an issue. Most tight ends can do at least one.

Like JuJu I think he has average ball skills for offense and therefore love them as athletes on defense. I think Luatua would be killer on defense but he'd have to want to play there in order to be affective.

TE or not, I want him on campus. Either he turns into another stud TE for us, or he finds a home somewhere else on the field. Who knows, maybe he's the answer at ILB we've been looking for. Just put athletes on the field.

i agree i think with his size and athleticism he could be turned into an ILB should TE not work out for him

I think the most likely to possibly pull the trigger next weekend would be Tranquil and Luatua for 2014, followed by the Notre Dunne duo. If McKenzie can commit I think he will, but I am not sure he can.

I think JuJu and Quick are really high on the Irish, but will play the process out further. Elam. Morgan and Scarbrough are longshots we have to blow away to stay in it, I don't think Mama is leaving Cali, and Erik Brown is a wildcard. As is Christian from ISD's new visitor.

For 2015 I could see Tristen Hoge pulling the trigger following a great visit as well.

Fresh off his visit and he does retweet everyone and everything, he even retweeted that idiot ND fan who wiped his a$$ with a bama shirt.

I'm sure will be see nothing but irish tweet by the end of the week

TV this morning stated that Tyler has told people close to him that his plan all along was to commit to ND on this visit. We are far and away his top school.

Don't ever use quotes from TV but thought it was necessary here:

"The Irish will be landing one of the nation’s better athletes and a player that could contribute at either tight end or linebacker down the road. However, we feel that he will end up on defense in South Bend."

I love how this question gets asked at least once a week lolol

Tunnel Vision is a weekly joint effort between Steve Wiltfong and Useless Tom Loy of 247

I'm hoping he commits early and his excitement rubs off on others. Getting a highly rated Cali kid like Tyler will definitely create some positive vibes among the crowd of recruits this weekend. Hopefully he can get in their ears.

Get on campus and go straight to BK's office and say, "Coach I'm Irish, what can I do to help get others to commit?"

We need a DOG and he seems a good fit for the position. He would be a nice addition with Jaylon and Councell around there. He could play early (maybe he would need a Rs. year).

If we ends up on defense it would be at OLB/DE, CAT LB. At least thats what everybody has been saying.

I would be surprised if he plays inside linebacker. I just don't see Kelly and Co. using one of their "big skill" guys at that position. He will get a look on both offense and defense to be sure, and I believe he will end up as an H-back type player for us. Just my 2 cents.
