Do you think Tim Tebow has said a prayer for Aaron Hernandez yet? I mean in public? Next Percy Harvin obviously!

Lol, I was reading his Ask page, this question gave me a laugh:

Would you rather fight one Tim Tebow-sized duck, or 100 duck-sized Tim Tebows?
One Tim tebow sized duck

Not much to see there. He's pretty non-committal about schools. Nothing bad to say about anyone, good things to say about Notre Dame when asked, same for other schools, etc.

What about 15 duck sized Tim Tebows?

I feel like that would be an easy fight. They'd all spend to much energy trying to pump up the crowd.

Not sure why there's so many Tebow haters. I love the guy personally. He's a winner and seems to be a decent man of god. Sure he played for urban but I can't hate em for that.

Well first of all his coverage has destroyed him. One reason I was so happy for Manti getting to go to San Diego. He was approaching Tebow-like levels of media attention and got put into a team that has virtually zero interest from around the country. If he had gone to the Jets or the Cowboys it would've been a nightmare that never ended.

So that's one reason I don't like hearing about him. The second reason is hard to explain... I guess the best way I can say it is that some people talk about their religion in a way that makes me think good of them, and some talk about it in a way that annoys me. I guess with Tebow I always felt (which means this is an opinion, to all those who would jump all over me) that 1) his "good-guy Christian" image was very, very cultivated from the beginning and 2) he's trying to convert me to his church, rather than just be happy with himself spiritually.

Overt Christianity--especially Southern Evangelical forms--drive some people crazy. Religion is supposed to be a secret thing unless you are visiting India or Africa or somewhere.

Personally he seems like a great guy to me. He is also a wrecking ball. He is strong as an ox and does not go down easily.

Tebow is a great role model about honor, integrity, and respect. Families that cannot find role models locally, in the work place, tv, movies, or sports actually have someone that walks the same way he talks.

Also, there is nowhere in the Bible that talks about faith being a secret. Faith in God gives purpose, peace, and life more abundant.

I will hijack luatua's thread one last time with this... As a christian evangelism is something each Christian is called to do and that's all I see him doing when he discusses his faith. I'll leave it at that cuz this will prolly get deleted anyway

You're spot on in saying the media has destroyed him. The first TD celebration I emulated (late 80's/early 90's) was getting on one knee and praying but all of a sudden this is considered 'Tebowing' and made out to be an example of Tebow jamming his religion down our throats. I understand there are other examples (i.e. interviews), but it's all overblown.

Re: the 2nd part, I understand this is your opinion and in no way should this response be considered jumping you, but I spent some time with Tebow when he was in college and my feeling has always been he is 100% authentic and genuine. His 'good-guy Christian' image may have been cultivated by the media, but it's 100% real and it's a shame people question his authenticity rather than celebrate one of the 'good guys' in sports.

I'm sure if one looks they can find a good NFL player that is Christian.

Tebow has just become annoying to me... mainly because he isn't a very good QB.

Aside from the fact that Teblow had disparaging comments regarding Notre Dame aside, can you guys take the worn out debate about Tebow to a different thread?

Wtf I know it is July, but ie is like an anti recruiting update site. We need a general discussion thread or something so we can follow recruiting. Sorry for the rant...

Really didn't want to add to the hijacking, but that statement is complete crap.
