Sooo is he potentially going to be the short yardage back? That'd be a good role for him in his first true season.

For whatever reason, the Dolphins are high on Daniel Thomas in that role. No idea why, he's been a real disappointment. I think Jonas would do a better job at a lower price tag.

Tonight vs Jacksonville:

14 rushes for 32 yards and 2 TDs. Both 1 yard runs. Long of 6 yards.

How are their other backs doing?

Is their line bad? JW because the 14 for 34 is rather pedestrian. Somewhere around 2.4 ypc.

12 carries tonight for 98 yards. Also had a really nice 17 yard TD called back.

I'm sure some ppl have lost track of him, but he's playing for the Patriots and is competing for the #4 RB spot behind Ridley, Vereen, and James White. His competition is Brandon Bolden and Roy Finch. Would love for him to make the final roster.

Crappy day, but some bright news here. Always loved Gray.

Both Jonas and Fleming were projected to make the Patriots 53-man roster by uber-plugged-in Patriots writer Mike Reiss in his article this morning.

Saw he has Ridley not making the team. Can't say I agree there.

If Ridley does get cut he will be on another team within the hour. He is super talented. But as soon as I saw him put that ball on the ground against Philly I worried he might not be around too much longer. They've already banished him once for fumbling. Belichick don't play that shit. It's too bad.

Was cut yesterday and cleared waivers, and just now was added to the Pats practice squad. One injury away from the team.

Ridley out for season with torn ACL/MCL, so very good chance that Gray is added to the active roster.

Right now, the RBs are:

1) Shane Vereen
2) Brandon Bolden....15 carries this season
3) James White--rookie from Wisconsin....3 carries this season

Sucks for Ridley, but great opportunity for Gray. Vereen really is just the 3rd down back ideally, and Bolden/White have barely played.

As you suspected. Gray was promoted from the practice squad today.

Was about to post this!

So happy for Jonas. I know about 90% of posters here dislike the Pats, but Gray is an impossible guy not to root for. He should have a great chance to establish himself as the power back tonight, as its been raining all day in Foxboro.

It says a lot about him that they called him up as opposed to signing someone like BenJarvus Green Ellis off the street.

Looked tough on his first carry. Ran strong for 5.

Nice run. But better hit by Walls in Vereen.
