I understand where you're coming from. I know I've contributed quite a bit to the Reesus following, but it's all in jest. I know that if and when a game comes this season where people feel Rees didn't live up to expectations, they'll throw him under the bus first for holding the team back. Fans are fickle, and I would say our fans are just as bad as any or worse when it comes to high expectations. I'm fully expecting one or two losses in the regular season this year, no matter how Tommy executes. It's too tough going 12-0. I'm okay with that though, because it's better than the 8-5 seasons or worse we've become accustomed to.
I don't fully subscribe to the notion of karma, just in the traditional sense that the Almighty may punish you for your deeds someday. However, God has a sense of humor, that much is certain. He knows we're not serious about the Reesus stuff. As far as other people not enjoying Reesus, repent I say to you! Lighten up! At it's core, the whole Reesus thing is really closer to mocking Tommy and zealot fans that are turning to him to save us this season with the loss of Everett, it's not actually about putting him on par with the heavens.

I can tell you that this is valid. I've spent 8 years on Buckeye Planet, been there since the Fiesta game. Yeah, I'm somewhat a Buckeye fan on the side since I married into them, but I've always been Irish first. I've tried over these 8 years to change perceptions among Buckeyes that Irish fans aren't all egotistical, arrogant, orange-creme/kool-aid drinking *******s, yet the perception remains. It's even worse since last season. Can't post **** over there now without someone replying with a super classy scissor lift joke. Everything is a flame bait with them these days, so I just reply with whatever will aggravate them the most without incurring a ban.

Two of my best friends are OSU fans. I can hold intelligent football conversations with them all day as long as I don't mention ND... as soon as I do that, it's like their brains disappear and are replaced with only scissor lift comments, Charlie Weis fat jokes, and now Golson intelligence jokes.
They know me well, so they know I'm a realistic fan... and yet they still act like I'm the cliche/stereotyped fan when I mention ND.

This is one of the many things that have sprung from my twisted mind, only I envision a very negative approach taken by critics and anti-fans. My basic concern is that Tommy is being set up for derisive internet comment/photoshop pics/GIFs/etc that he neither deserves nor invited.
I have, obviously, no problem with word play, humor and mischief, ulukinatme et al. I simply worry that "we" are placing an undeserved target on Mr. Rees' back with all the playful banter. Let him handle it on his own with his on and off field play.
I endorse moving extraneous BS from a recruit or player's thread. These exchanges would seem to qualify. All I (humbly) request is that a reference to the original topic be made. I know that this is a selfish request since I've decided to not bother with the recruiting thread until they reach the current incoming freshman year. That is (i.e., not to be confused with Irish Envy or Internet Explorer), I'll pick up on a 2014 recruit's come 1/1/14. It reduces the drama and needless stress. It would help with my pre-Alzheimer's addlepation.

We need a Reesus sign when College Gameday eventually comes to South Bend or that place were Wolverines try to play football.
I'm 95% sure I will be at college gameday at the small house. I've got some good sign ideas that will be revealed at a later date. Will be tough to beat Dumb and Dumber tho

haha yeah i randomly took a photoshop class in high school so its a random skill of mine. but i love it... will certainly get some consideration

I have a ND "Damnit Doll" that I got during the 3-9 season. I hand painted a #11 on it a few years later. Can't come back from that.
