@jgbensmith.....
What a complete douche.
Changed my mind, I'm sending my email. Someone said he also had his phone number listed or something? We should get some crank calls going.

His phone number and fax if anyone wants to give them a go:
phone, 461-8736; or fax 461-8648
This is what I emailed him. I was steaming mad so I sent it while still ticked off.
"Are you really comparing a school that continued recruiting a player after he signed a NLI to a coach who offered a player after he committed elsewhere? Almost every coach in the country does that but not very many actively recruit a player after they sign a NLI. Notre Dame has lost many players to other schools very close to NSD and Kelly has never attacked those players publicly or really made any comments whatsoever. Ronald Darby and Deontay Greenbury are 2 that come to mind. Deontay was committed to ND on NSD and faxed his NLI to Houston instead. Kelly never said a thing about it. Darby ended up decommitting and signing with FSU within a few weeks of NSD. Kelly didn’t comment on that one. I believe his response at the NSD presser was he was excited about the players that did fax their NLI and wanted to be at ND. However, Eddie Vanderdoes did fax his NLI to ND and was committed for about 4 months before he decided he didn’t want to go to ND anymore and wanted to go to UCLA. Fine but don’t expect to not pay any consequences. If he had enrolled at ND, he would have had to sit a year if he transferred so why should he not have to do that after signing his NLI? Notre Dame offered a player who has not signed a thing so how is that really poaching and how is it any different than what every other coach in America does? The FSU coaches were not too happy about the player that signed his NLI and then changed his mind. Why aren’t you writing stories about that one? It happened before the Vanderdoes situation. And FSU took a player from us just 2 years ago, Ronald Darby. Kelly offering a player committed to another school is certainly nowhere close to the same thing as the Eddie Vanderdoes situation and to imply that it resembles that situation even slightly is shoddy journalism. That is all."
It's a little long. I kept thinking of more stuff to write.
I am going to fax him 360 pages of "weaksauce" tomorrow at work. What an asshat.
I'm the same way. I typed up a big scathing email eviscerating not only his logic but his horrendous writing... and then decided it wasn't even worth it to send. I mean there is just so much idiocy in that article that you either have to be a blind hater or really ignorant/stupid about recruiting to buy anything being said. The entire article is basically an incoherent jumble of dribble.
In my email I didn't send, I dedicated a whole paragraph about how I felt bad for him because he was obviously going to amount to nothing in life if -as a journalist - he thought that was OK vocabulary to put in a published article.
Then I found out he's been writing for 25 years or something? Just.... wow.
You guys are way overreacting. This isn't worth writing a huge Essay over.
The latest from ISD seems pretty positive. Says he will come back to see how well he meshes with the players, enjoys campus, etc.
He will love the players, campus, etc and fit in really well at ND. From everything I've read, I think his decision will come down to two factors, with the first probably being a bigger factor than the second:
1. Playing time: He will see the field much sooner at Purdue and likely not have to redshirt as he would need to at ND. Will he be swayed by this or will he say f'it and work his butt off to see the field at ND?
2. Academics: Apparently Purdue has a good engineering program. How does it compare to ND? Anyone know?
Purdue has a comparable if not better program. But it's near impossible to play football and engineer.... If not impossible

If this kid is serious about becoming an engineer major then he should stay at Purdue. Purdue, from what I've been told, has a top-10 (or at least top 15) engineering programs in the nation. Granted ND's overall degree value might be worth more. However, if this kid is serious about getting an education with a focus on engineering then I would not be surprised if he stayed put.

Engineering is overrated. Give me a coat hanger, two rubber bands, and some duct tape. I can fix dang near anything. When in a pinch, break out the liquid nails. There... a $200k education in a few short sentences.
As far as Tranquill... doesn't he have a lil bro as good or better than him?
Ok, MacGyver...
Yes, his name is Justin. He's much smaller (5'11" vs. 6'2") and I think he's a WR recruit although 247 lists him as a safety. Not sure if he's as good or better. Based on the little I've heard of him, doesn't seem like a ND offer is in the cards. Who knows though.
