Miami has a lot of depth at RB this season. Lamar Miller, Daniel Thomas, Mike Gillislee (5th rd pick) are all ahead of him on the depth chart. Then there is Marcus Thigpen, who is mostly just a return guy, but had two or three special teams TDs last season. If Miami does decide to carry four rb's, Gray has got to make a huge impression. He's practice squad eligibile, and that's okay if he starts out there.

I think he is legitimately better than every RB but Thomas... and Thomas is never healthy.

When he went down with the knee I was practically in tears. Miami got a steal picking him up as and UDFA.

If Miami doesnt keep him, his production will probably give him opportunities with other teams who are not as solid at the RB position. I think Jonas proved that he belongs on a NFL roster. I pray his dreams come true.

Word is Lamar Miller went down with an ankle injury today and Jonas has been taking snaps with the starters. No word on how severe the injury is.

In what I saw of the hall-of-fame game, Jonas looked terrific. And I mean "starter-quality" terrific.

Had a text convo with a friend of mine that is a tOSU/Dolphins fan.

I sent him "Go Irish" after Jonas caught two straight passes out of the backfield his first drive on the field.

He proceeded to tell me that Jonas would be lucky to make the practice squad as they "have a ton of mediocre RBs already." I told him that I thought he would learn to really like Jonas.

I can't wait to say "told you so." Jonas is going to be a quality NFL back.

He's still mad that the Dolphins wasted a first round draft pick on a kick returner.

If he doesn't get a spot in Miami, it would be great if he could get on with the Cardinals and MF.

Gray will make the roster I bet. If he doesn't, that means there's a really good RB on the market. I would hope the Colts would pick him up and get rid of "Goddamnit Donald" Brown.

Lamar Miller tweaked his ankle today and Jonas Gray took starter reps in his place. Jonas is killing this training camp and preseason. If he didn't tear his ACL he would have been a mid-round pick and there wouldn't be a discussion about him making the roster.

Being a Dolphins fan, I check out all the news I can on them. I'm hearing that he is busting his butt to make an impact on special teams as well as trying to make it as a RB. I'll try to find the info and share it here...

Sooo is he potentially going to be the short yardage back? That'd be a good role for him in his first true season.
