Man Notre Dame is proving they can recruit both the lines at an elite level.
I was told by someone I trust that's had apparently closer to the program than I once realized has told me that some of these guys being recruited as CAT-LB and/or DE are actually being recruited as out and out 4-3 DE but for the sake of confusion because the base defense is 3-4 they will get listed as a CAT or generically as a DE rather than a 3-4 DE or 4-3 DE.I think Bonner plays DE too since he is already at 245

a 3-4 DE and a 4-3 DE are vastly different positions and most of those guys are interchangeable at the DE spots in the different formations. Some of the 3-4 CAT can be 4-3 DE and some of those 4-3 DT.
So back to Bonner from what I was told was that they recruited him to be a 4-3 DE rather than a CAT or 3-4 DE though he will most likely be listed as a CAT.
Guys like Trumbetti and Blankenship are up in the air from what I understand but unlike Bonner who they see as solely as a 4-3 DE, those 2 could end up as CAT prospects as well as true 4-3 DE or 3-4 DE.
I would like to recruit a pure NT, this kid never played a down as a zero technique. He looks good tho.

We have 2-3 spots, probably, for the best available front 7 prospects remaining between now and....yep, NSD.
A number of possibilities left. Preferably another Inside-oriented DL, another Inside-oriented LB, and another Edge type who could play "Cat" or DE or both.
I continue to like and feel confident about our recruiting overall and defensive recruiting of note here.
Got second level yesterday. Got first level today. Would love to get a third level with Watkins or Wilson to pop for ND this weekend (wishful thinking).
Welcome to the family fellas!!
Update from TJ:
There are actually three in CA. Apparently this Junipero Serra was/is a pretty big deal. JunÃ*pero Serra - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
