If you're seriously suggesting that Cam is in the same athletic stratosphere as Bryant or Folston than I will have what you're having. Actually, **** it- it's Saturday, make it a double.

Lets take a look at the numbers.

Tarean Folston comes to camp at 5'9.5 and 207 the recruiting sites listed him at a 4.48, see attached Tarean Folston - Yahoo! Sports.

Greg Bryant comes into camp at 5-10 and 204 with a listed 40 time of 4.56, which is one of his knocks Scout.com: Greg Bryant Jr. Profile .

Cam McDaniel comes into camp at 5-10, unless your using Rack em's measuring stick, 207. He is listed at a 4.53 40 and a 3.97 shuttle Cam McDaniel - Yahoo! Sports. Definitely same stratosphere in fact very similar. That shuttle time is impressive.

Your problem is those are the only two things you are looking at. Cam is a serviceable back who will get carries, but he doesn't have anywhere near the skills of Greg Bryant or Tarean Folston, let alone Amir Carlisle or George Atkinson. He is a good back who will see some carries, but that's it.

Say what you want, but doesn't it seem like when Cam is in the game he is nearly always getting good gains, granted, some of this is mop up time but some not. He does seem to have the so called "it factor", he just makes plays, and most of us didn't really expect it.

We have a lot of good backs. Cam is one of them. Maybe the toughest from neck up. Going to be a great year!

From what BK said yesterday. Cam is in a great position to get a lot of playing time this year. It will be tough for him to stay in front of GB though

GAIII will get every shot to start.

Bryant is a talent you simply have to give a chance to. He'll get his shot.

Folston wavered at the end (trust me on this...it was no accident his LOI was sent in so late), so I HIGHLY doubt that he will redshirt, just to keep him engaged and keep his eyes from wandering.

Amir is IMO the most electric playmaker on the team, Will he get some carries out of the backfield?

And then you have Cam wanting to get carries. It is a crowded backfield and it will be hard for him to get carries unless he absolutely wows in training camp (not his forte), or if there are injuries.

***Back on topic, I saw Troy Niklas for the first time on campus yesterday. Unbelievably, he looks even bigger now. He was outside the Gug and maybe it was because he just worked out, but holy crap is he friggin' enormous. If his technique is good, he's going to destroy people in the running game. I'm not saying I'd leave my wife for him, I'm just saying, it's not completely off the table. No homo.

I think Cam will see a lot of goal line action. We don't have a goal line back on the roster, and he's a great 'churner'.

You know how the players walk through the student section when they first go on the field for warm ups? Last year for the Purdue game, I was by the concession stands where the players walk by. The players had all walked through but then there was one player that straggled behind. He walked right by me, he is massive! I am amazed how anyone can tackle that guy. He is nothing short of 6'7", 270 pounds

Thanks for the FACTS, Golden Glory. I'm afraid, however, you'll only confuse many here who've already bought into the meme that Cam is small, slow and un-quick.

I hope and pray that GB and TF become great players for ND but they shouldn't be getting nominated for the College Football Hall of Fame by anybody on this board just yet. They have a lot to learn and to prove. Given the three upperclassmen at RB I doubt either of them will see significant playing time absent injuries.

In any event, it's going to be a great season. This team pencils out as much better than the 2012 team.

Last thought, Andrew Hendrix will become the starter at some point during the first four games and will have a terrific year.

He's a freak. If he continues to gain weight, you think the staff would consider moving him to the o-line? I love our young lineman but if he gets north of 300lbs, he could be an absolute force at left tackle.

Reports coming from every pay site is that Bryant and Folston have been very impressive this summer. Some are even expecting Bryant to flirt with 1,000 yards rushing. I guarantee Bryant sees significant time and Folston will see some too.

This year we have a revolver, who is bitching?

Does anyone think any opinion expressed here will have an affect on camp? Or, that camp won't decide the depth chart? With these guys it is more like a depth charge (for opponents) than a chart. Isn't the really good news that we are going to be able to keep a competent fresh set of legs on the field at all times, all season long?

I rally am not as interested in Niklas weight as I am in his foot speed and ability to block edge pass rushers.
