Basically my feelings... and if he isn't, the best thing everyone can do anyways is leave well enough alone. There is absolutely zero use in fretting about hypothetical situations that may or may not arise. I think most are just (understandably) a little on edge from the saga of crazy that was last year's off-season.

Seeing as this thread is about Alex Anzalone, I'd like to comment on him-- as Lax pointed out, I'd like to believe "his word is his bond," and it very well may be. I get that he's taking a free trip to Florida, but it bothers me that it is FLORIDA. If his dad were a Wisconsin alum or a Washington alum or wherever, I wouldn't really be bothered. He has been flirting a bit with the Gators though. We shall see.

First off I think Alex is going to be tremendous and I too think he is still solid. Secondly, I would have stressed and worried about losing a guy of this caliber last year, but after seeing everyone fully buying in to Kelly's program and the exponential progresss I am ot the least bit concerned. Any kid that de commits is screwing them selves. We are headed to annual bcs bowls and Florida sucks.

I didn’t take it that way, in most instances you're correct jmurphy. I just think he's trying not to be a d!ck but biases have already set in and even good intentions have been misconstrued.

Whatever goes on here I am firmly behind the idea that Anzalone is an elite player and we would be extremely proud to have him on our team --- which will be terrific defensively either way, but one step further up with him in the line-up.

Really hope that he sticks and gives it a try to continue the legacy of one of the great linebackers, and persons, in college football [Manti]. If he does not stay, there will be no psychological gameplaying in my head with sour grapes comments... it will simply be everyone's [including Alex'] loss. I have great hopes for Alex, and as an old grad, know that ND is even more than he could hope for in a school.

I try not to be too parochial and would like to input from other fan bases, but I sense a little smugness coming from ALLGATOR with regard to Alex. We all follow his recruiting; we understand Alex's situation with Florida. If I'm misreading his intentions, I apologize.
